Just a dream

We walk in awkward silence for probably miles. I turn to her and in attempt to break the awkward tension I try to say a joke, but end up failing. She looks at me with a confused look on her face.

"Ugh. My uncle says it much better. I guess being a comedian doesn't run in the family" I say, as I look down and cringe at my own stupidity. I hear a quiet noise that sounds kind of like... a laugh? I look up at her and see a cute grin as she shakes her head. I smile a little, feeling a bit proud. We walk in comfortable silence for the rest of the day.

As the sun started to set I looked at her. She was obviously tired. I stopped and started setting up our sleeping bags. We both got settled in and said our goodnights. I drifted off to sleep fairly quickly, while looking at the stars.

I'm on a boat. I hear screaming coming from my right. I look to my right, there's a lady crying. She looked like me, blue eyes and dark brown hair. Next thing I know, I'm falling. I scream and look down at the ocean. Right as I hit the surface, I gasp and sit up, in a cold sweat. I can feel the tears fall from my face. It was just a nightmare. Zuko shoots up out of his sleeping bag and shuffles over to me.

"Hey, look at me. It was just a dream" he says as he pulls me in and embraces me. I accept the hug and cry into his shoulder. "Do you wanna talk about it?" He asks. I shake my head, not ready to talk. "It's ok, take your time" he says. "Do you want me to stay with you tonight? It always helps me to have someone with me after w bad dream" I nod and move over, making room for him on the sleeping bag. He climbs in and wraps his arms around. I snuggle into his chest as he keeps me warm. I slowly drift off into sleep.
