"My music's not really the partner dancing kinda music,"
"You seemed you be managing just fine," Spike said as he walked further into the room.
"Okay, even if you think you can dance to it I don't have any speakers,"
"Now you're just making excuses, give me your headphones." He said holding out his hand expectantly.
"Why?"
"If you turn up the volume all the way we can use them as speakers." He paused for a second almost as though he realized something. "Wait," he looked at you with a grin, "don't tell me you're embarrassed~" he teased.
"And what if I am?" You asked crossing your arms.
"Then I'll just have to show you there's nothing to be embarrassed about," he said snaking an arm around your waist. "Put your arms around my neck,"
You put your arms around his neck as requested and he put his other arm around your waist and rested his arms on your hips. Then he began to sway, using his arms to guide your hips. It was a little awkward at first with the lack of music and all but starring into Spike's eyes made it more bearable. Eventually allowing for the rest of the world to fade away as you enjoyed each other's company.
You weren't sure how much time had passed, but you didn't really care. It was peaceful. Just swaying back and forth, only the creaks of the Bebop and each other. Nothing else mattered. You might've even forgiven losing the bounty you'd endured those guards if it meant this could last forever.
But sadly, woolong kept you all alive. And to get that woolong it tended to take a bit more than just you and Spike. Or you'd have a hard time kicking the other crewmates at least. And this lead to interruptions such as loud banging on your door. "Open up lovebirds! We've got a bounty to deliver," Faye's voice was an unwelcome addition.
You heald back a snarky comment and went to open the door. "The door's not locked, Faye," you said coming face to face with Faye as the door opened.
"Well, I didn't wanna walk in on anything,"
"And I didn't wanna pick you back up but here you are,"
"Don't be so mean. You'd miss me."
"That's debatable," you said walking past her towards the main room.
Jet was already there, rounding up the various thugs as best as he could. You went over to help him wrangle the thugs into a neatly packaged bundle. As they began to wake up again you were tasked with knocking them out again to make them more manageable.
It took a good 15minutes due to the sheer amount of them but eventually, they were all ready to be handed off to the police. Somehow both Spike and Faye got off easy without doing any work and you just couldn't have that, "Oi, loverboy, get over here and help out. You too, Faye, go help Jet!" You ordered as you dragged another set of thugs over near the exit.
"You're not calling me that,"
"I am if you don't pull your weight. Now come on we're almost done,"
"Hey, I helped bag these guys. I'm already pulling my weight,"
"And I had to pretend to be oblivious to one too many advances, do you really wanna play that game loverboy? Because I will win and then I won't stop calling you loverboy."
"Gah," Faye pretended to gag from across the room, "get a room already,"
"You're so lucky you don't have a bounty on your head." you sneered, "loverboy over here might not go for small fry but I'd settle for 3 woolong," at calling Spike 'loverboy' again he playfully flicked the back of your head.
