chapter 29: Slap back to reality

Kaino's POV

"Thank you." I thank the lady with a smile after taking the package from her.

The package which consists of pup's food. My smile fades when I put my hand in my pocket but don't find my purse.

"Just a minute." I tell her who nods at me.

Putting the package down, I check my pant pockets, shirt pocket and even my raincoat pockets but I still don't find my purse and my mobile. Taking a minute time to think if I left them at the designer's shop, I remember I actually didn't take them with me to begin with. As we already paid the designer for the suits, a while back when I took Moon's suit from him, I didn't have to pay anything. That's why I didn't think of my purse.

When I walked out of the shop, I found a pets store opposite of it which reminded me that pup's food is almost done. So, I decided to buy pup's food so that even that work gets done. As my car was parked little far from the shop because of traffic and other cars been parked before mine due to rains, I didn't go there to put the suit in the car. Rather, with carrying it I walked directly to the pet's store and bought food. And now that I have to pay, I remember I forgot my phone and wallet in the car.

"My purse is in the car, I'll get it in a minute. Please keep my package a side." I tell the lady who's smile now vanishes but still nods as me, "sorry."

I mutter as I leave the store. She might have thought I wasted her time and didn't even make the payment. I made her run all around the store to make her bring the right brand of food for pup because pup is allergic to certain brands. And when she finally got it after almost twenty minutes, I didn't even pay her the money. No wonder she didn't smile at me anymore, in fact I'm thankful that she didn't shout at me for wasting her time and told me to get out of the store.

Stepping out, I hurriedly walk to where my car is parked only to slow down my movement as I near my car. There are two police cars with loud sirens parked in the place where my car was supposed to be. Moving closer to them, my eyes widen when I find my car a feet away from it's initial place and that too it turned upside down, crashed all over and looking more like a trash than a car. There's a big truck just few inches from my car, the front of which is totally smashed. That put a picture of what could have happen. Seeing the police officer standing at one end and directing the others to work, I head to him.

"Excuse me, officer, what happened here?" I ask him who looks at me with a stare as if I disturbed him, maybe I did but I had to talk to him to know what actually happened.

"An accident, as you can see." He replies the obvious and watches me continuously.

"This is my car." I state knowing that would make him curious which it does.

"Is this yours?" He asks confused.

"Yes." I reply and he thinks for a moment before holding out my purse and mobile.

"You're Kaino?" He queries and I nod, "are these your things?" And I nod again.

"Are you really Kaino and the owner of the car?" He questions as if I'm lying to him.

"Of course, I'm Kaino. What's so unbelievable about that?" I sigh out.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude." He apologizes before continuing, "you see when we arrived here, the car was totally crashed by the truck and we found two people lying down on the ground. As the doors of both truck and car were open, we assumed one is truck driver and the other is car driver. We found your phone and purse which had your name so I dialled the emergency number which was your husband, that's what he said, and informed him about the accident."
