Mel sat at the kitchen table trying to find the perfect words to describe the music box she had just been given. George doesn't leave for another week and to be honest she doesn't know if she wants him to leave. I mean he gave her this beautiful music box something only someone who truly cared would give her, someone who knew she needed a place to house her jewelry and he knew her favorite song.
Joe is across the kitchen making a pasta with a lemon butter sauce. The sauce is boiling in the pan.
Joe:
"What's wrong Mel?"Mel:
"I don't want George to leave, what if he is the one? What if the person who could think of such a beautiful gift that is incredibly thoughtful is the one?"Joe:
"Mel he is like a baby. He is so young. If I were you I would let him go, because he might regret not taking this chance in the future. If it is meant to be then y'all will end up back together when he returns."Joe continues cooking.
Mel goes upstairs, music box in hand.
In her bedroom she sighs. She is sitting at her vanity organizing her jewelry in the box. It's music fills the room. She places her grandmothers locket in a small compartment, diamond earrings in another. She fills the top of the box with earrings, rings, and necklaces. She realizes she is running out of room and decides to take the top piece out of the jewelry box. When she takes it out she sees a small piece of paper in the bottom....
It's a receipt. She examines it closer and gasps in shock of what it says. It has Joe's name on it as the person who made the purchase. They must of stuck the receipt in it and he didn't know about it.
Her mind starts running a hundred miles an hour. Up until this moment she thought George was the one.
Joe yells from the stairwell "dinner! Dinner!".
