chapter 4

A knock, then the door opened slowly. 

A pair of green eyes with a pair of pitch eyes staring back at them. 

"I'm sorry" Sasuke spoke up first 

"Its alright" Sakura soothed before pulling him into a hug 

The hug felt different than from when they were kids. The hug had the warmth of a sibling, rather than a desperate crush.

She was different, she seemed happier. He was glad. 

Though the tiredness was apparent on her face, her eyes radiated warmth and happiness. 

She even smelt different, like Ino's perfume for a reason none other than what was obvious. 

He didn't mention it, rather he made a mental note to bring it up in the future. 

Small talk. Thats how it was for a few long minutes. The two danced around what was obviously on Sasukes mind, for different reasons. 

Sakura, was afraid to upset Sasuke. Everyone seemed to be recently.

Sasuke was simply afraid to ask.

"He woke up earlier" she said shattering the silence. 

"How is he?" 

Sakura shrugged, earning a puzzled look from her teammate.

"He seems healthy.." she paused, "Very distant though" 

Distant? What could that mean?

"How so?"

She shrugged again

"You should go see him"

This time, it was Sasuke who shrugged. 

"I don't think he wants to see me"

Suddenly Sakura was ready to put him back into his place.

"What kind of idiot thinks someone would chase him for all that time and not want to talk to him?" She looked very annoyed at this point

"Plus he asked about you earlier." she announced with a smile, then left.
