[Neighbors]
1st POV
2010
I've been staring at this middle-class house for so long. Hoping my eyes could burn it atleast and go back to Buriram to play with my cats instead of moving here in Busan.
My house is bigger in Thailand. But this one? Not too big or not too small though it is good for two to four people. Comparing to the right, the house is astonishing, modern, elegant, and colossally amazing. I'm quite sure, the owner is rich.
"Lalisa!!"
"Yes, dad?" I averted my attention to him
"Can you please get our small luggage from our car? I will help these men carry other furniture from the truck going inside our house." He said
Peeps usually call me Lisa for short. As for my family, they always call me Priya.
This is my first time stepping into South Korea. My dad is a chef from our country, he decided to branch out his Thai Restaurant here.
My family and I will stay here in Busan for 5-6 years. I guess. Months from now, middle school is fast approaching. I'll wait with bated breath for the school opening.
"Arraso? Um is it really arraso?" I asked my dad.
"Uh huh. That's good you're practicing..." Dad said.
Learning Korean drives me crazy, you can't finish it in one sitting. The only word I can spill so far is "annyeong", "arraso", you know those famous words from kdrama. They kinda handy in real life, I guess.
People would say, moving to a new house isn't that bad. New environment, new everything. Sorry but not for me. The vibe is different, it gives me chills whenever I think about it.
7:30 pm
My dad prepared pad thai and pad krapow moo saap for dinner. They're my favorite because it taste like home. "How's Busan so far?" he asked me.
"It's great. Everything looks good here but there's no other place like home," I gave a half-smile.
"Yeah, I miss home too. But hey! let's give it a shot to like this place," Dad being optimistic
"You're dad is right. This might be our second home! Who knows right? Oh! By the way, we should meet our neighbors and give them some food that we have, right?" Mom raised an eyebrow
She went to the kitchen to get extra food and placed it in plastic containers. "Priya, wanna come and meet our new neighbors?" Mom excitedly asked
"Sure" I coolly said
Walking to our neighbor's house, I'm having butterflies in my stomach because the house is a bit intimidating. Mom pressed the doorbell, the chime is welcoming. A middle-aged man opened the gigantic door, "Yes?" he raised a brow.
