1. Please introduce yourself! What is your name or pseudonym? How long have you been on Wattpad, and what is your favorite thing about Wattpad?

I'm Amelie, or LibraPhoenix on here. I've only been active and posting on Wattpad since June/July. What started out as a little COVID quarantine boredom has quickly become a wonderful experience that has boosted my confidence as a writer, and introduced me to an invaluable network of writers and friends.

2. Describe yourself in three words.

Chaotic Libra Queen

3. What inspired your winning work?

Bamboo is a mix of things. I am a huge true crime fan, drawn to serial killers and kidnappers; I love dark writing tackling taboo subjects, like Gillian Flynn's novels; as a feminist, I want to start a conversation about male victims of abuse and sexual assault (a subject that, sadly, is not given enough light or respect even in today's "progressive media")

4. Which work of yours are you particularly proud of and why?

I only started writing Bamboo this year, but I have fallen so in love with the characters. Or, Case. Sir scares me.

5. Is there an author you look up to (on or outside Wattpad) and why?

I've already mentioned Gillian Flynn, but on Wattpad I have mad respect for RowanCarver. She has insane drive and passion, she has written the absolute EPIC "King Eden" in just a few months, and I am so enviable of her world building and action sequences. She has what I lack, and I look to her for inspiration.

6. What drove you to pick up writing?

Honestly, writing is something that seems to be coded into my DNA. It is just who I am, ever since I was little.

7. Do you have any hobbies outside writing?

I enjoy The Sims. I used to make CC, but the community is pretty toxic so I only create and play for me now (or, I'd play if Sims 4 wasn't completely broken. Screw you, EA, fix this game).

8. What advice would you give to new writers?

Don't worry about abiding by rules or pleasing everyone. Write the story you want to read.

9. What are your long-term writing goals?

Finish Bamboo, and maybe take a punt submitting it to agents. I have another manuscript I am holding off on submitting because 2020 has been crazy.

10. Do you have any thoughts and/or comments you would like to share upon winning The Passion Awards?

I'm just honored to be up there with some incredibly talented writers. I recognize a few people in other categories, and I am so chuffed to be among their ranks.

11. What would you like to say to your readers as appreciation?

I'm sorry I haven't updated in ages, haha. Life has been crazy. I promise I am still writing, so watch this space for more Case and Sir.
