The young boy named Y/N slowly opens his eyes and gets pierced by the light peaking out from his curtain. He sits up and looks away from the shine entering his darkroom. "I really need to cover that up," Y/N said into the abyss that is his mind.

Now that his face was no longer on the pillow, he took off the mask completely covering his face. He takes a deep breath in and out. It felt satisfying, especially after wearing something like that all night long.

The boy left his bed and stood in the middle of his room. He looks at his hand and just stares at the special material it was made out of so it wouldn't be destroyed by his quirk. Y/N turned to his door and opened it.

As he walked out, his mother looked at him and all of the color drained from her face. "Y-Y/N," she said while visually shaking.

Y/N sighs at his mother doing this once again. "Hey..." he said before walking into the bathroom.

Upon entering, he placed his hands on the sink and tears begin to fall from his face. "Why... does she fear me? Why does she hate me?" Y/N questioned.

The boy wipes his tears and grabs his toothbrush. Y/N quickly brushes his teeth and finishes as fast as he could. Once that was done, the boy turns to the door that leads out of the bathroom. He didn't want to face his mother. He wanted to stay in the bathroom and never face her again. Seeing his mother be so fearful of him as too much for him to bear.

Sadly, eternity within the bathroom wasn't an option. He placed a hand on the doorknob and tried to turn it. It wasn't as simple as turning it though. Y/N felt sick and weak. So weak, that the doorknob felt that it would require the strength of Hercules to turn it.

Slowly, the boy turned the knob and opened the door. Just as slowly as he opened the door, it was even slower when he walked out. The boy's footsteps carried him from the bathroom, all the way to the living room that was right next to the kitchen.

Y/N felt a pair of eyes watching him, so he slowly turned his head to the kitchen to see his mother staring at him. "Yeah, mom?" The boy inquired.

"I-I made you breakfast," she told him.

The teenager looked at the kitchen counter and sees a plate fill with food on it. "Thank you," he told his mother.

"Yo-you're welcome," she replied in a shaking voice. "Mommy loves you."

His mother proceeds to speed walk out of the kitchen. The boy sighs just like he did moments ago. He didn't want to be in the house for any longer than he should. So he ate the food as quickly as he could and got dressed.

Once, food was in his stomach and clothes were on his body, he was ready to head out. "Welp, time to take that exam," he quietly said. "Hopefully, becoming a hero will show my mother that I'm not a monster."

"I'm leaving mom," Y/N told his mother before walking out the door.

The woman peeked her head out the door of her bedroom and waited for the sound of the front door to be closed. Once she heard it, the mother speeded walked to the front window, and watched as her son slowly walked away.

She felt a wave of relief wash over her once he was gone. She didn't feel any fear and walked around the house completely calm. As she did, her eyes fell upon a family photo. It was her right next to her husband and him holding a young Y/N on his shoulders.
