Y/N was walking home with a smile on his face. He looked at his silver medal and his face couldn't help but smile like Shinra Kusakabe. It was a massive accomplishment to show the world what he's capable of.

Not only did he win, but gain control of the quirk that ruined his life for so long. He went to UA to help gain control of it and to show off how much of a hero he can truly be. And now that potential has finally been recognized.

Not only that, he was finally able to kiss his crush. Something he thought to be impossible, especially due to extreme anxiety. But he gained enough encouragement too. Whether that be him excited to finally be able to control his quirk giving him that confidence or genuine confidence, it will be discovered tomorrow.

While that tiny challenge awaits him tomorrow, there was something ahead of him that he needed to face, and it was unavoidable.

His Mother

He kept walking down the street until reaching his house. He slowly turned his head to the building and felt his heartbeat begin to rapidly increase. It was as if he was running a marathon. He didn't understand it yet he was omniscient as to why his heart was beginning to beat as fast as it did.

He turned his head away, shut his eyes, and took a deep breath in and out. "It'll be ok. It'll be ok," he said to himself trying to reassure his mind. But it was futile. After all of the years, he spent with his mother, he couldn't help but think negatively.

Will she accept him? Will she still consider him a demon? She will be understanding? Will she still stick to her beliefs that he is a devil child? All of these questions ran through his mind. He tried desperately to think positively but couldn't.

He turns back to the house and says "screw it. There's no point in being afraid of the inevitable."

He walks towards the house with his body telling him no. His heartbeat increased with every step but knew that he couldn't turn back. He got to the door, pulled out the key, and unlocked it. He walks in while shutting the door behind him.

He takes a deep breath in and out. He walks through the house and sees his mother sitting in a chair by the dinner table. He froze seeing her. She sat there doing nothing. Not even reacting to the fact that he just arrived home.

He didn't know what to say and stood there waiting for something to happen. Time passed and kept pasting with neither saying anything or moving. Eventually, Y/N shouts "I'm home!"

She slowly looks at him with her eyes piercing his own. She stared at him and still doesn't say anything. "Are you even going to talk?!" he asked his mother.

She looks down at the table and tells him "I don't know what to say. I've spent all of the time you were gone thinking through everything. After I saw that fight of yours against the boy with the fire and ice quirk, I was stunned. I've been trying to come up with something but I've been left like this for hours."

"I can't say I'm surprised," Y/N replied. "Are you still drawing a blank with what to say?"

"Yes," she answered honestly.

"Why not sorry?" he asked her.

"What?" she responded to his outburst.

Tears begin to stream out of his eyes. "For everything you have said to me! You have called me a demon, you ask yourself why you were cursed with me, and so many other things!" he told her. "You have all of this time to think, and sorry never crossed your mind?!"

She stares at him still not knowing what to say. She felt something building up inside of her. Which lead to her breaking down crying. Tears began to rapidly come out of her eyes as she grabbed onto her head.

Y/N stood there not exactly sure what to do. "M-mom?" he asked.

"I'M SORRY!!!" she screamed.

He stood there stunned to hear her actually say "sorry" to him. He never truly expected her to say it. Maybe some extremely poor excuse or something but never a true and genuine apology. His mind didn't know how to respond.

"M-mom..." he said before she bolted towards him.

She wrapped her arms around him while still crying. It took him a few moments to process this but eventually started to hug her back. They held tightly onto one another. "Y/N, I'm sorry for everything I have said to you. I should have never said those things," she told him.

"It's... okay," he replied. "If it makes you feel better, I never stopped loving you."

She lets go slightly and her son in the eyes. "What?" she questioned with utter confusion.

"I still love you. I never stopped," Y/N told her.

"How?" she asked.

"I knew one day you would change and I understood the trauma you went through when seeing dad die," he retorted.

"You are such a sweet boy," she said while running her fingers across his face.

"Thank you," he retorted. "Can we start over?"

"Yes. I would love that," she answered.

They were now smiling. The mother and son hug each other now happy that they can start all over again. No longer will they be scared of each other but now love each other like how a mother and son should.

A/N: Sorry for it being quite short. And sorry for taking a while to update. Next chapter shouldn't take nearly as long to come out and should be much longer than this one. Have a great day and thank you very much for reading.
