"Hey, (y/n)," your mom says to you as she's about to walk out the door. "Suzuka is coming over today, I need you to be nice. Please."
"I'm always nice to her mom, I see her like twice a week," you laugh, avoiding eye contact. What your mother doesn't know is that you've actually been crushing on your tutor and have been eagerly awaiting your sessions together.
"Right, sorry," your mom looks around, seeing that she's got everything. "Phone, wallet, keys... okay, I'm good. Love you," she says, walking out of the front door.
"Love you too..."
You go in the bathroom to look in the mirror. Appearances were never that big of a deal to you, but when Suzuka comes over to tutor you, you always find yourself trying to look as nice as possible. But not over doing it, obviously.
You're cut off by a knock at the door and you almost trip on your own feet. You didn't know she'd be here this
early, but you're not complaining.
"Hi!" you say, opening the door. You step aside to let her in.
Suzuka grins. "Hey, (y/n)," she says, her thick accent music to your ears. "Do you remember everything we went over last time?"
"Yep," you say, sitting down at the dining room table. "Bass clef, treble clef... music... stuff." You've been having trouble in music theory for a while now, and Suzuka apparently has lots of experience with music.
She laughs. "Yep. So today we're gonna be working on some scales and the order of the notes. The order of the notes is super easy, you're just going down the alphabet but stopping at G," the eighteen year old says, pulling out a sheet of paper with said scales.
As she's explaining, you try to listen but you can only find yourself staring at her. Her hair, specifically. It's very soft looking.
"(Y/n)," she says, looking into your eyes. You smile, trying to cover up the fact you were just staring at her. "What are you doing."
"Sorry, I just... got distracted," you say, still smiling.
To your surprise, Suzuka blushes. "By what?" she asks softly, looking back to the scales. Your eyes widen in surprise- why is she blushing?
"Um," you start, looking for a smooth answer. "Uh, you're just really cute." You mentally facepalm. There goes my big secret, you think.
Su's eyes dart up to yours. She's still blushing, and now you're blushing. This could end up very good or very bad for you.
"I think you're pretty cute too," she smiles.
WHAT.
"Oh- really?" you ask in shock. "Me?"
"Yes, you," she laughs. "I've liked you this whole time."
"Me?" you repeat. Suzuka laughs again. "I've liked you this whole time, how did we not know?"
"You didn't know, but I did," she says with a smirk. You groan and put your face in your hands.
"Was I really that obvious?" you ask, your words muffled by your hands.
"Not super obvious, but I can pick up on things really quickly. No big deal."
"Well I can tell you now that I had no idea you were even remotely interested in me."
"Well now you know," she says, standing up. "It's four, I better get going. Sorry we didn't get to do that much studying..."
You stand up with her and walk her to the front door. "That's fine... I had a good time anyways. It was very educational."
She giggles and the two of you stand in silence for a moment. Suzuka surprises you by suddenly kissing your cheek, and you both blush.
"Bye, (y/n)," she says, walking out to her older sister's car.
"Bye," you say back, so softly you're surprised she actually heard you. The butterflies in your stomach are going wild.
And you can't wait for your next study session.
