The New Maiden (a Demon's Souls X RWBY story)

Main Character Abilities

Quick note before we get started, I decided to play a hunch and found out that apparently I have the ONLY DEMON'S SOULS FIC ON THIS PLATFORM?!?! If I'm wrong then please correct me because that's both extremely disappointing and pressure inducing. That being said I'll do my best job as the first Demon's Souls story on Wattpad (if I'm right and anymore show up in the future I'm making my mark now this is the first one ever)

Let us now get into the main characters of this story

We'll start with the title character Maiden Astraea:

Astraea is going to be very much a supportive force for the more combat focused Garl Vinland. Of course as a maiden she's going to have some pretty heavy hitting attacks incase she needs them. Her defense will be her big advantage though. Her aura (once unlocked) will be INSANELY strong able to take blows from the series heavy hitters with little bend. In order to balance out her crazy defensive ability her offense will take considerable chunks to use and thus causes her to take increased amounts of damage. Her support won't cost as much but will still stack up if engagements last particularly long. She will also have the ability to anchor her aura effectively locking her in place but providing her with more stability and (in souls terminology) POISE. The specifics of the offense and support get deep when she harnesses a fragment of her soul into an orb that allows her to cast focused spells. These spells include increasing attack, healing, POISE, and she can use a direct amount of her aura to heal and restore broken auras. On the offense side she'll be able to use AOE explosions, controlling the vital organs of people with broken auras, and she can use the power of the silver eyes without having any herself. The last attack she has is spawning in twelve homing projectiles the cover a wide range around her. Maiden Astraea is really powerful but all of it comes at both the aforementioned cost of causing her to take more and more damage depending on the ability and it also causes her to expend aura for the more powerful abilities. All of that will work in tandem with her guardian Garl Vinland. Speeaking of which

Garl Vinland (AKA The Pancake King)

Vinland has his Bramt as his main weapon with the dark silver shield in his offhand for defense (duh). Let's also consider aura for a second. In Demon's Souls Vinland is very much the fight of the boss fight with a fairly large health bar and tons of damage in his pancake hammer. Now for this story I'm switching Vinland up to be a little bit more of a glass canon. Not to say he won't be able to take some damage as he should be, however he'll rely on his shield for taking hits head on but when it comes to getting hit without it he won't last as long. This is to give Vinland a need to balance out and consider his offense and defense carefully while also giving him a reason to rely on Astraea instead of her sitting idly while he pancakes or gets pancaked. It'll help their bond as well as create an interesting combat dynamic (even though I have yet to test my metal writing a proper fight scene). Now Vinland's semblance will come into play quite often to give him an edge when he needs it. He can summon energy into his Bramt (The Bramt is the big bonk he's holding in the cover btw, I probably should've explained that earlier sry) to increase his striking power. Think of it like Yangs semblance but it's focused on his weapon. If he's really low on aura it can create small shockwaves that directly impact ones senses if directly impacted. Vinland is gonna be the offense to Astraea's monstrous defense. How it'll play out in story is yet to be seen but I like the dynamic I have mapped out here.
