You reach the dorms, Bakugo walking close beside you. The warmth of his body radiated off of him, warming the side of your arm.
"Kacchan?" you ask.
"That's not my name," he says.
"Bakugo?"
He turns to look at you, his arm brushing yours.
"Why do you want to be a hero?" you ask him.
He grins, a mischievous look on his face.
"Why do you want to be a hero?" he asks you.
"I asked you first."
"Too bad. Answer my question," he demands, his red eyes narrowing at you.
"I want to be a hero because...," you pause, thinking about exactly why you wanted to be a hero. You wanted to be a hero because you always wanted to find your father and prove to him that you became something great. To prove that you were stronger than him. And, to avenge your mother's death. Your father deserved to pay.
"Come on," Bakugo urges, "It can't be that hard."
"I want to be a hero because I want to change people's lives. Make people believe that there is good in this world and not all people are bad. That one person can change someone's life forever," you say, which wasn't a lie. It just wasn't the exact reason, but it still was true. You wanted to make a difference in someone's life. You could change people's lives for the better, and if that doesn't count for something, than what does?
"Your turn, Bakugo. Why do you want to be a hero?" you ask him, a small smile on your face.
"Easy. I want to become the most famous and powerful hero known. Even greater than All Might," he says, a confident tone in his voice.
"I'm sure you will," you tell him. And you meant it.
Though you have only known him for about a day, you could tell that he was going places. His confidence and ability to believe he was going to be the best would really make him go far. His quirk was powerful, he just needed to learn how to control his anger.
He looks at you, confused, for he thought you were going to make a snarky remark of some kind.
"I'm serious," you tell him.
He scoffs and rolls his eyes at you, but he actually appreciates the compliment. But he would never say that.
"I'm going back to my dorm," he says, reaching his hand up to ruffle his spiky blond hair.
"Okay, see you later Kacchan."
He doesn't make a comment on the nickname you picked up from Midoriya, just storms off towards his dorm.
You turn walk in the opposite direction, though your rooms were just a couple of doors away from each other.
You plop onto your bed, the cotton sheets sinking under you. You sigh, the activities of day really taking a beating on your body. You pull the covers over your body, not even getting changed out of your clothes. Ugh, the light is still on.
You get back up to switch off the light, the quiet thuds of your feet walking on the carpet.
"HEY!" Mina screams as she throws open the door to your room.
"Mina!" you shout back in fear, tripping backwards on your own feet.
"(y/n)!" she exclaims, grabbing your arm so you didn't fall over.
"You scared the hell out of me," you tell her, regaining your balance.
"Heh, sorry," she says and drops you arm, "just wanted to come by and tell you that you missed out on a lot of fun. Denki and Kirishima were having a fight about who could more girls. So Kirishima dared him to ask for your number, so don't be surprised if he comes knocking on your door tonight. Just warning you," she says and laughs.
