You grab the ball, curling your fingers around it.

How can I use my quirk to make the ball go farther?

You look at the ball in your hands, focusing on your first task. Just throw it as far as you can without your quirk.

You pull your arm back, getting ready to throw the ball as far as you can.

You launch your hand forward, letting the ball slip out of your fingers and go flying.

It soars in the air for about 20 seconds, farther than your were expecting.

"214 feet (66 meters)," Aizawa tells you, a smirk growing on your face.

It was farther than Bakugo, and you didn't even use your quirk. Impressive.

But how were you going to use your quirk to make the ball go farther? All you could really do was heat the ball up. Maybe...

Maybe if you heat the ball up on the ground, looking down at it on the floor, the pressure would force it to move. The ball might go very far, or it could just explode. You didn't have any other ideas, so this was going to have to work.

You place it on the ground, confusing some of your classmates watching.

"What are you doing, (y/n)?" Midoriya asks you.

"You'll see," you tell him, getting ready to use your quirk. This was going to hurt afterwards, but you had to beat Kacchan

Heh, wonder why Midoriya calls Bakugo Kacchan.

Bakugo smiles to himself, knowing what you were trying to do.

"What are you smiling at, Bakugo?" Kirishima asks him, "Is it (y/n)?"

"What! No!" he yells at him, drawing your attention to the shouts.

You just roll your eyes at him, focusing back on the ball.

Okay, please work.

You focus your gaze on the ball, the moisture already leaving your eyes. Using your quirk on Bakugo was a bad idea, because you got rid of all the water that was left in your eyes.

The ball heats up, pushing down on the sand. You continue, waiting until it can't take the pressure anymore and moves. Hopefully, it moves forward and not backwards. If it moves backwards, it will hit Bakugo right in the face.

Actually, you wouldn't mind either outcome.

The ball starts to move, trying to handle the heat.

SWOOSH

The ball goes flying forward, speeding though the air. Man, that ball had to be going at least 200 miles per hour. It keeps going, not losing any speed.

Eventually, it slows down, dropping very far away.

"2453 feet (747 meters)," Aizawa tells you, a smile tugging at your lips.

"Beat that, you damn nerd," you tell him as you walk by, going to sit by Mina.

He doesn't say anything, his hands just balling up into fists.

"Oh man, (y/n) beat you! I knew she could do it all along," Kaminari says to Bakugo, loud enough so you could easily hear.

"Shut up, Sparky!" he yells, punching the yellow-haired boy in the shoulder.

"OW!" Kaminari cries in pain, grabbing at his arm, "You're so mean, Bakugo."

"Shut up."

"Good job, (y/n)! You did so good! You even beat Bakugo, though I'm sure he isn't happy about that," she says and grins.
