Asuma knew from the beginning that as soon as they left the Leaf Village they were being tracked and just a minute later everyone else could sense that someone was following them but couldn't tell who it was. Asuma was starting to get frustrated because he tried to track down their pursuers and find them but he couldn't.

When the sun started to set and the skies began to grow darker they decided to camp out for the night. Asuma said they needed someone on watch duty first and Naruto volunteered. He was sitting on the branch of a tree that was overlooking over there entire camp. Naruto was surviving the surroundings when a person jumped up onto the branch he was sitting on. The person was wearing a black cloak with red clouds and a hood over his head, covering his face.

"Hello Naruto, It's been some time since my eyes have laid on you," The cloaked figure said in a monotone. "Who are you and what do you want?" Naruto asked calmly. "Well my name is Itachi Uchiha and what I want depends on your answers for the question I ask you," Itachi said. "So your Sasuke's older brother, the one who killed almost his entire clan. So what is it that you want to ask me?" Naruto asked.

Itachi looked up at Naruto with his dark-colored eyes. "Why is my little brother dead? Why did you kill him? He was the one who was going to bring back honor to the Uchiha Clan. Now he can't, tell me why" Itachi said while his Sharingan spun into existence. "Your brother acted like he was better than everyone else, he looked down on everyone in the village. The council put him into the CRA and he got to choose the girls for his harem. He had picked the girl that I love dearly. When certain things were revealed and he realized he wasn't going to get his way he attacked the women I love. I had no choice but to put him down. I didn't want to do it but I will do anything to protect my loved ones from harm believe it" Naruto said as he looked into Itachi's Sharingan without hesitation, almost daring him to use a Genjutsu on him.

"I see" Itachi started as he deactivated his Sharingan, "Well you did it to protect a loved one. There isn't any more honorable way than that" Itachi said. "Well, what are you going to do now? Are you going to kill me?" Naruto asked as he slowly reached for his Kunai holster. "No, No I'm not. But I do think it is time for me to atone for some of the things that I have done. I think I'm going to head home and talk to the Hokage" Itachi said, "You're going back to the village?" Naruto asked with a surprised tone. "Yes, It's time to go home. Good luck on finding Tsunade and be careful, there are people out there that are looking for you" Itachi said. "Wait! how did you know that we were looking for her?" Naruto asked. "Naruto, I have known you for a long time. When you were very young I watched over as an Anbu. Just ask Neko about Weasel when you get back" Itachi said as he smiled. Then he exploded into a murder of crows and disappeared into the dark of night.

By the morning of the next day Itachi had reached the front gates of the Leaf. He approached the gates when the two Chunin guards, Izumo and Kotetsu, who were guarding the gate stopped him. "Itachi Uchiha you are under arrest," Izumo said. "So be it. You can arrest me but please summon some Anbu, I wish to speak with two of them" Itachi replied, showing no emotions.

Just then 10 Anbu flickered to the front gate, Neko and Hebei among them. "Why did you return Itachi?" Neko asked in a cold tone. "I wish to speak with the Hokage" Itachi replied as he looked straight ahead. "Why do you think we would we let you and not kill you right here on the spot," Hebei said as she placed her hand on her sword. "Because if you were going to kill me you would have done it already Hebei," Itachi said as he moved his gaze to look at her. "Besides, what I have to tell the Hokage is important. It's about Naruto and I don't think you want your little brother hurt or taken right. If it will help put you at ease put a chakra suppression seal tag on me for the time being" Itachi said.

"So be it," Neko said. She walked behind Itachi and removed his cloak and pulled up the back of his shirt and placed the chakra suppression tag in the middle of his back. After she finished that both her and Hebei flickered him into the Hokage's office. The aging Hokage looked up from his paperwork that looked at the missing Nin. "Itachi, what has brought you back to the village?" Hiruzen asked. "A few things really. One, atonement for the things I have done. Two is to give you some info on a group trying to get their hands on all the tailed beast. And three is a warning about Orochimaru's impending invasion of the Leaf village" Itachi said to him.

"Any word on when the invasion will happen?" Hiruzen asked. "The Chunin Exam finals" Itachi replied. "Hmm, It appears to restart my training if I'm going to stop my old student. Now, what of this group that you were apart of looking to get their hands on all the tailed beast?" Hiruzen replied. "I was part of an organization called Akatsuki. We were a group of missing Nins paired together to capture the hosts of the tailed beast and extract their tailed beast" Itachi explained. "Well, we must not let that happen. Could you tell us about all of their abilities" Hiruzen asked? "Yes, I will tell you when I am taken to the Anbu headquarters. I must atone for the wrongdoings that I have done" Itachi said.

The Hokage sat in his seat in silence while in deep thought about everything that was happening and what had happened. "Itachi you have nothing to atone for. You have protected this village with honor and sacrifice. I will not have you arrested. You're a great Shinobi and you have always put the village first even over your family and clanmates. With your brother gone we could lose the Sharingan forever. I have a better idea. Itachi, will you promise to protect the village" Hiruzen said as he asked Itachi his question. "Yes Lord Hokage, I will do anything to protect this village and to bring back honor to the Uchiha Clan," Itachi said as he bowed to Hiruzen. "That's good to hear because I have a plan that will not only bring back honor to the Uchiha Clan but stop Orochimaru at the same time"

That very same morning on the other side of the Fire Country Naruto woke up with his head on Ino's lap as she played with his hair. They all ate breakfast around the fire they had made the night before. "Where are we going to look for her first?" Naruto asked as he rose his head up from Ino's lap earning him a protest from her. "Tarzana Town, your grandmother loves to gamble. That's where we should find her or at least get some info on where she might be" Asuma said. "Sounds troublesome, to be honest, but then again, everything is troublesome with you blonds," Shikamaru said lazily.

"Everything is troublesome to you Shikamaru. This is a great mission, we get to find Lady Tsunade. She will be so glad to see Naruto and we'll bring her back to the village. It's so easy for a B-rank mission. Plus I get to spend more time with whiskers here" Ino said as she grabbed Naruto's arm and laid her head down on his shoulder. "Thanks, babe. I just hope we find her, I want to meet someone from my family" Naruto said as he gave a quick kiss to Ino's forehead.

"Well, let's get a move on. We should be in Tarzana Town by noon if we hurry" Asuma said. Team 10 packed everything up and began running to the town to find Tsunade.
