(Flashback Start)

Naruto excused himself and went to pack for the mission, making sure to pack a few scrolls on Chakra control and Medical Ninjutsu because his mother suggests he learn some because it requires super precise Chakra Control and that could help him with performing other Jutsu while also giving him the same super strength as his grandmother. After leaving the house in a yellow flash he appeared at the front gate where everyone was waiting for him.

"Alright everyone, keep a lookout," Asuma said they all started to run in the direction of the Sand Village.

(Flashback Ends)

The Sand Siblings and Team 10 were leaping through the trees at high speeds in the hope of getting to the Sand Village quicker. As they ran Ino lept up next to Naruto. "Hey, Naruto what did Lord 5th need to tell you and Asuma-Sensei?" Ino asked as they ran. Naruto looked at Asuma who heard Ino ask the question and he nodded to Naruto, indicating he could tell her. "Big Bro Itachi held us back to tell us that a group called the Sound Four is a group that's targeting Gaara, Temari, and Kankuro-" Naruto said to Ino and she nodded her head, "-He also told me one of the members of the Sound Four named Tayuya is an Uzumaki" Naruto finished.

Ino's eyes grew wide when Naruto told her this. "Are you serious! Did you tell your mom yet?" Ino said in a yell whisper. Naruto shook his head, "No I didn't. I didn't really have time to tell her because I had to pack for the mission" Naruto explained. "But you'll tell her when we get back, right?" Ino asked and Naruto nodded. They continued to run for a while without any complications or any encounters. Soon the sun started to set and Asuma said to everyone to set up camp for the night.

"Alright everyone, let's set up camp here for the night. We'll continue moving in the morning" Asuma said as they landed in a decently sized clearing. Everyone nodded and began to set up camp. After setting their tents up they all gathered around the fire that Asuma had started. Asuma already had dinner ready by the time everyone had finished with setting up for the night. As they ate Ino commented on the food. "Wow, Asuma-Sensei! This food actually tastes good!" Ino said as she continued to eat.

"And what's that supposed to mean Ino?" Asuma asked. "It means that Kurenai is teaching you a thing or two," Naruto said with a smirk. "I-i don't know what you're talking about!" Asuma said quickly while turning his head away from his former students. "Ooo! Asuma-Sensei loves Kurenai-Sensei" Ino said in a sing-song tone. Asuma held his head low while Naruto patted his former Sensei's shoulder. "Don't worry Sensei Ino likes to tease a lot" Naruto said. "Sounds like you speak from experience Naruto," Gaara said in an emotionless tone.

Shikamaru and Temari spit out the tea they were drinking while Kankuro started to roll on the ground in laughter. Asuma chuckled while both Naruto and Ino's faces were all a bright red. Gaara looked around with a confused look on his face. "What? did I say something wrong?" Gaara asked. "N-no Gaara, just... shocked us is all," Naruto said after he recovered. Gaara nodded in understanding and returned to eating his food. The rest of the time was spent in silence and after everyone finished their food they headed to sleep with Asuma and Naruto on guard duty first.

Naruto was on a tree branch meditating and focusing on sensing his surroundings. He was actually currently trying to expand his sensing range. Ever since he discovered that he was a sensor he's trained every day and extended his sensing range a little farther. He was completely in hi meditating but he had a Shadow Clone guarding with him. Suddenly Naruto threw his eyes open and saw that he was in a sewer type place.

"Where the hell am I?" Naruto questioned as he stood up. He looked around and started walking forward. He was walking forward for while before he came to a massive room with equally massive barred doors with the Kanji for nine above it. He walked further into the room and stopped when he saw the glow of red eyes glaring at him. "I guess my jailer has finally decided to grace me with his presence" A demonic voice from behind the bars growled.

"I'm assuming you're the Nine-Tails," Naruto said as he bowed, "It's an honor to meet someone like you". The Nine-Tails was taken aback a bit by this but quickly recovered. "Yes, it is your honor that you get to meet The Great Nine-Tails Kyubi," The Nine-Tails said arrogantly. Naruto just smiled up at the Nine-Tails. The Kyubi took note of this, "Why aren't you fearing me mortal?" The Kyubi growled. Naruto tilted his head in confusion. "Should I?" Naruto asked.

"Everyone fears me you brat! You should too!" The Kyubi yelled as he slammed his massive paw on the barred door in front of him. Naruto didn't even flinch at this. "What if I said I would to release you... what's your name?" Naruto asked. The Kyuubi's eyes widened a bit. "No mortal has ever asked me for my name before," The Kyubi said. "Well I'll be the first one and besides, I don't want to call my friend something that isn't their name," Naruto said with a smile.

The Kyuubi grew a shocked expression on his face. "Why would you see me as a friend? I destroyed your village and killed your father" Kyubi asked, not being able to hide the shock evident in his voice. "First, you didn't completely destroy the village. Two, I've already forgiven you for killing my dad. It's not a good thing to hold onto anger and hate for so long. Plus you're sealed inside of me so I want to be your friend!" Naruto said, saying the last part excitedly.

For the first time since the Sage of Six Paths, the Great Kyuubi Kitsune smiled. "Fine, I'll grace you with the knowledge of my name. My name is Kurama" The Kyuubi, now named Kurama, said. "Nice to meet you Kurama!" Naruto said excitedly. "While we're at it, why would you release me? You know what will happen right?" Kurama asked Naruto. "I know what will happen Kurama, I'll die. You were sealed inside of me against your will" Naruto said as he started to float up to the gate and rip of the paper tag above the seal. He proceeded to lift his shirt up and just before he could open the seal Kurama stopped him.

"Brat stop what you're doing!" Kurama shouted. Naruto looked up at him with a confused look. "I thought you wanted to be free?" Naruto said in confusion. Kurama looked away as he answered. "I've decided to stay and because you are being kind I'll even let you use my power as a reward for gaining my respect," Kurama said. Naruto's eyes had stars in them. "Really Kurama! Oh, thank you thank you thank you!" Naruto said as he jumped up and down excitedly.

Kurama chuckled at Naruto's behavior. "I think he might be the one the old man was talking about," Kurama said to himself. "Hey, brat" Kurama called out. Naruto stopped and looked up at his friend. "What is it Kurama?" Naruto asked. "I was going to say that You won't be able to gain my full power yet because your Chakra Coils will explode from to much chakra flowing into suddenly but you will be able to use all the Tailed forms, from 1 tail all the way to 9 tails," Kurama said.

Naruto looked sad for a second but immediately made a comeback. "Then I'll just train even harder so I can safely wield your awesome power!" Naruto said with a determined look on his face. Kurama chuckled, "That's the spirit brat. Also, one more thing before you leave, can you change the scenery" Kurama asked and Naruto nodded. Naruto started to think of an open plain with forest and mountains with a cave for Kurama to sleep in. When Naruto opened his eyes he saw that it changed to what he was thinking.

Kurama smiled at this but noticed the gate was gone. Kurama was about to ask Naruto but Naruto guessed what he was going to ask and he just pointed to his neck. Kurama looked down at his own neck and saw a collar with the seal on it. Kurama smirked at Naruto as Naruto waved at him and faded from the mindscape. After Naruto left Kurama went to explore his new world before he went to go sleep in his new cave.

Just as Naruto opened his eyes he could sense Asuma coming towards him. Naruto stood up as Asuma arrived. "Everything good over here Naruto?" Asuma asked. Naruto nodded, "Yep, everything is going good over here," Naruto said as he headed to his tent he shared with Ino and slipped into a sleeping bag with Ino and fell asleep.
