i woke up to lightning. i was in my bedroom in the cold, dark manor, now fully aware that a storm is going on. i sit up and bring my knees to my chest. the thunder growls as the rain is in full force. i whimper slightly and begin to shake. another struck of lightning. i yelp as tears started to fall off my face. why did i have to be scared of storms? my sobs become violent as i try and find comfort by hugging myself. the thunder and lightning goes off at the same time, making me scream while whimpers and sobs rack through my body. it reminds me of volde-. no. don't think about him. but i couldn't help it. fear pumps through my veins more and more every second. my vision is blurry but i can't see anything anyway; it was too dark. i can't hear anything but the storm. a panic attack has now set in. absolutely terrifying.
soon i feel a warm, comforting hand shake my shoulder slightly and i gaze over at them. y/n is sat looking tired with concern etched into her face. "hey, hey, look at me. that's it. breathe with me, okay? alright? there we go. you're alright, you're safe. i'm here, it's okay," she whispers coolly. i look into her magnificent e/c eyes and begin to calm down when another struck off lightning makes me begin to shake in fear again. she slowly reaches her hand out, in case of me being scared, but i reach towards her and curl into her chest. she rubs my back soothingly while my whimpers become louder and my sobs are quiet. "shh, baby, you're alright. i'm here. try and go to sleep okay?" i nod and pull her closer and breathe in her scent. roses and strawberries. i sigh loudly and listen to her steady heartbeat. my sniffles become hiccups. y/n laughs and kisses my head, "goodnight draco." i snuggle into her arms and slowly drift off to her whispering comforting things into my ear. i love you, y/n.
