     STORM'S POV

The cafeteria was just what I expected it to be, so many students sitting while some looked for their seats. Some were mumbling words to each other as they looked thoroughly at me as though I couldn't see them staring.

"Yo Aldrie come over" a group of guys called out to her

"Go over there to take your food and come join us" she went and sat down with them, putting a few fries in her mouth from the guy sitting opposite her

I went towards the line in the cafeteria and soon I was in the front line trying to decide what to take but the man serving already served mine.

"Food very sweet, just for you" a middle aged man who appeared to be in his early 30's said before handing me my food with a wide smile

"Hey nice combo you got there, what's the name again. Stark right?" I bumped into a white figure who happened to obviously not know where he was going

"It's Storm and this is not different from what is being served" I carried my tray in my hands as I searched for where Aldrie was seated

"Not exactly, yours looks different, it has more life into it. By the way, the name's Edcin" he went directly out of the cafeteria before disappearing down the hallway

I eventually found Aldrie and went to sit with her. She was laughing so hard with some of the people who sat on the table. I felt a bit tense as the table was full of guys and i wasn't  always one who had the best conversations with guys.

"What took you so long?" Aldrie asked trying to catch her breath.

"You just missed my brother, he left a little while ago but that aside, everyone meet Storm my new classmate and Storm meet my really good friends" Aldrie introduced but I would have preferred I ate with them and went back to class like I was never even there

"Hey, I'm Laren, that's Jack and Jake the twins" the guy sitting opposite Aldrie said. He has brown hair and was white while the twins were a bit dark but they all looked like models that we're ready to take a shot or two.

I was left staring at them and looking for what to say when I realized it had been a long time

"Nice to meet you all" I replied facing down to my food

A swift hand took my chocolate drink away from my tray and if there's one thing I can't joke with, believe me it's chocolate.

"No! No!, You couldn't have even taken something else?. Drop it back" I totally forgot every other person on the table and even the whole room except the person and the hand holding my chocolate drink up in the air

"And if I don't?" Laren replied right back with a question which wasn't the reply I expected

"If you don't put down my drink back right now, I promise you won't like what...." The bell interrupted my attempt to show aggression and that was when I saw Aldrie and the twins watching us trying to hold in laughter

Some students hurridly stood up and rushed out of the cafeteria while some were still trying to gulp down their food.

"Okay, here you go feisty. You know that's a much better name for you but unfortunately I have to go now" Laren mocked as he dropped my drink and stood up to leave with the twins. He said goodbye to Aldrie and it was more of a chocolate drink payback war glare to me.

Aldrie had to wait for me to finish my food before we went to our next class. The first day of school was not as terrible as I expected it to be because I was totally ready for the worst day ever. I got home to see my mum wearing her "special baking outfit" as she usually called it which meant only one thing! She had spent hours in the kitchen searching the Internet for a baking recipe and with a sigh I remembered the last time she tried this.

                   FLASHBACK
It was a bright Saturday, the starting of the holiday break. A half nice, half sour aroma filled the whole house and even found its way into my room. I sluggishly went downstairs against my will but for the sake of the grumbling in my tommy and my dad had travelled a week ago so it had to be my mum in the kitchen.

"Good morning" I greeted in a high tone as I walked down the stairs

"Morning Sweetie, I'm sure you're starving, just give me a few minutes and this cake will be all done" she said excitedly

Cake as breakfast didn't sound like a very good idea to me but I saw that as the appetizer before the main meal. I and food have a special kind of bond, stronger than even my Netflix account. 10 minutes turned into 20 minutes and 20 minutes into 30 minutes and soon I knew something was wrong from the smell of smoke that came out from the kitchen. I didn't waste any more time to rush into the kitchen and I saw the burnt cake on the counter while the oven brought out so much smoke.

"Open all the windows, it's just a little smoke" she lied, the smoke was way more than just little

I opened all the kitchen windows and the downstairs living room windows for the smoke to clear out a bit. My mum was trying to reduce the smoke coming out from the oven and although at first the smoke didn't seem to be going down but eventually it did. She walked out of the kitchen all messy and her hair scattered as she coughed non-stop.

"I don't get what went wrong, I mean I did everything that woman in the YouTube video was doing" she stated

"You used the same oven temperature?" I asked

"Well yes but it wasn't high enough so I increased it but it wasn't meant to burn like that"

"Let's order something for breakfast" I suggested and she also took in the idea

We tried cutting some parts of the cake and the part that wasn't so burnt came out pretty tasty. We ordered a box of pizza before my tummy would grumble to death.
          END OF FLASHBACK

I remembered it like it was just yesterday. She was mixing something in a bowl.

"Back from school already so how was it?" She asked while adjusting the strands of hair that fell on her face

"It went pretty well" I admitted

Well aside the biology teacher who talked without stopping and the chocolate war that I decided not to mention to her.

"That's great, I'm making cupcakes and it's good you're back your dad travelled today so he will call to speak with you later" my mum said

It wasn't new to me how my dad travelled regularly without letting me know most of the time. I went up the stairs to my bedroom and got straight into the shower. I let the warm water run down my body, releasing the worries and confusion and all that was left in my mind was the sound of the water as they splashed on the floor. I took my time in the shower and when I got out I felt fully at ease but my ringtone snapped me out of that calm mood and I picked up the phone to check who it was

"Baby girl" my dad's voice filled my ear as I picked the call

"Hey Dad" I didn't expect him to call so soon. I realized mum had probably alerted him of my arrival home
