Leafy smiled to herself as she watched Pin confess to Coiny. She felt good for her friend, but she also felt a pang of sadness as she thought of her and Firey's broken relationship. Pin and Coiny leaned towards each other and Leafy decided that it was a good time to leave. She had wanted to see Firey, but, apparently, he wasn't there. Maybe he had gone to go eat breakfast or something.
Leafy headed back towards the elevator. She really didn't want to get caught spying on Pin and Coiny, there were already enough misunderstandings between them.
Given her horrible luck, Leafy thought that Pin and Coiny would randomly look her direction and she would get busted. Her relationship with Pin damaged beyond repair. Coiny would distrust her and maybe get angry at her if he wasn't already. Surprisingly, much to Leafy's disbelief, the possibly-now-couple didn't notice.
Leafy jumped into the elevator and gently pressed the button indicating the lobby as if she was scared that hitting it harder would cause something bad to happen. The soft music in the elevator didn't match Leafy's mood. She felt depressed, nervous, and slightly bitter. Her world had turned on her head and all she wanted now was to go back to how life was before going to the Academy.
Reaching the food court, Leafy realized that her palms were slick with sweat. Her heart was beating and the tips of her ears felt as if they were on fire. Was she now scared to talk to her best friend? No, she told herself, I can talk to Firey. I'll make him remember me again.
There, near the dessert table, was Firey. Leafy didn't think it would be possible to get any more nervous, but she was wrong. Slowly approaching him, Leafy bit her lip and started to call out his name. Firey saw her, turning his head. He glared at her so angrily that it knocked her a step back.
"Firey-'' she started, but he walked away in a hurry, obviously trying to avoid her. Leafy's heart twisted and broke, shattering into a thousand fragments. Tears rolled down her face and stained the edge of her shirt.
Tennis Ball gave her a worried look, but Golf Ball shook her head at him and he sat back down. Leafy thought with bitter resentment, Everyone's probably angry at me now. I need to tell them the truth. They don't know what happened to me. They don't know what Firey experienced. What a group of brats. Cold, dark anger filled her like liquid fire, tearing at her brain and causing her to clench her fists unconsciously.
Leafy, what are you doing?! she thought, Don't get angry over this, stay calm. You need to be nice. Don't get violent, people will just judge you more. Try your hardest to be nice, maybe people will talk to you again.
Leafy took a few deep breaths to calm herself down. She noticed some of the others glancing at her, probably wondering why she was just standing in place and breathing. After getting a little bit of breakfast, Leafy decided she needed to talk to Teardrop. Maybe she would understand her, she didn't seem as angry as Pin or Firey. Talking to Coiny would influence Pin a little bit, so she decided to talk to him as well.
Now, to find Teardrop...
Where was Teardrop?! Leafy had no idea what room she was assigned to. She was nowhere in the lobby either, nor the food court. Leafy decided to ask Four for assistance. Now to find Four...
Leafy banged her head on the wall and headed off to look for him.
