Proposal

Tohru's pov~

Kyo and I are going out today! I was so excited. Yuki said he'd stay at the house, just in case Akito stopped by. Kyo's hand was so warm. His face was red.

"Kyo, is there something wrong?" I asked him.

"H-Huh? No..." He replied to me. Then he smiled at me, "I'm fine."

I smiled back at him.

He said he wanted to go out for ice cream and stop by the park. I didn't think it was weird for Kyo to ask me to go, just something felt off. He seemed so nervous. Wait...am I making Kyo nervous? Am I doing something to upset him?

"Tohru, are you okay?" He asked me.

I was lost in a group of panic thoughts that I didn't hear his question until he stopped walking, "Oh...yeah. I'm fine. Am I making you nervous Kyo?" I asked curiously.

"Hm? Of course not. Why would you think something like that?"

"W-Well...your face is redder than usual...and you are walking slightly faster."

"No. I'm perfectly fine." He smiled. "Come on, let's go grab some ice cream."

We started walking again and went to grab some ice cream. I took a strawberry while Kyo got a banana flavored one. After we finished our ice cream, we headed to the park where we ran into Saki and Uo-chan.

"Woah! You're so much bigger than when we last saw you!" Uo-chan said, "Anyways, is Carrots treating you good? It's been quite a while since we last saw you guys."

"Yeah, I'm doing good. It has been a while." I replied to her.

She hugged me tightly. "Gosh, I missed you so much."

"Uo-chan..." I said, "I've missed you too."

We found a bench to sit on. Saki and I sat down while Kyo stood next to me and Uo-chan stood in front of me. "My my. What are you having? A boy or girl?"

I stayed silent for a moment trying to decide if I should tell them. "Um...I was planning to keep it a secret."

"Oh pleeeeeaaaassseee!?" Uo-chan begged.

I let a small sigh and made a little ice gesture. She came towards me and Saki leaned in too where I whispered the gender in their ears.

"Awwwwwww!!! Wait, you're keeping it a secret from Carrots right?"

I nodded. Kyo stood there with a jealous pouty face. "Its okay Kyo, you'll find out in a couple of months."

Kyo let out a small sigh. "But I'm the father, shouldn't I get to know now?"

I shook my head back and forth, "Nope. I'm still not telling you."

"Why did you tell Saki and Arisa then?!"

"Because they are my friends." I said with a smile.

"They're your friends but I'm the father and your boyfriend! I should get to know!"

I made a small pouty face, "Are you sure that you want to know...Kyo?" I asked.

He hesitated, "..."

"Hmmm?" I asked again.

"Ah, you got me. I want it to be a surprise."

He only did that because he knew I'd be upset with him. "See? It's better if it's a secret, don't you think?"

Kyo blushed a little, "Yeah."

Uo-chan checked her phone to see what time it was, "Oh damn, Saki, we need to get moving." She said.

"Where are you girls running off too?" I asked.

"Oh, we just gotta go meet up with this guy. We're buying a gift for you guys." She said, "See you later." She waved and they walked away.

Kyo sat next to me then. "Were you happy to see them?" He smiled.

"I'm always happy to see them." I replied to him, "Just like I'm always happy when I see you."

Kyo blushed a little, "Come on, you don't need to say things like that."

"But it's the truth." I smiled.

Kyo laughed, "Why are you so adorable?"

It was silent for a moment and we watched as a squirrel ran across the park. He started climbing up a tree then back down the tree. He stopped in front of us with an acorn was in his mouth.

I felt Kyo's hand shaking.

I turned my head, "Kyo? Are you sure you're okay...?" I asked him.

"Yeah...Tohru...I have something to share with you." His face was completely red.

"Okay. I'm all ears." I said.

"I know I'm not the best boyfriend. You can't even hug me without me turning into a cat. But I try to give you the best comfort and I always like to make you feel safe. I want to go on as many adventures as I can with you. I wanna take you places you wanna see. I want to do anything to keep a smile on your precious face and to make sure you're happy as you can be. Tohru..."

My face turned red. I had no idea why he was saying all of this. I felt the urge to cry tears of joy though. "Kyo..."

He pulled out a box from his pocket, "Tohru..." he opened it up, "Will you...become my wife?"

My face grew more red by the second and the tears started pouring down my face. "Of course, Kyo." I wanted to hug him so badly.

He put the ring on my finger, "It might not be the ring you wanted but...I tried."

"No, Kyo, everything is perfect! I love you so much!" I cried joyfully.

Kyo began to cry too. "I wish I could hug you."

"How adorable." We heard a familiar voice from behind us.

Kyo looked behind us, "Akito!"

"Is this...how you really feel...Kyo?" Akito asked.

"Of course! I love Tohru with all of my heart. Get lost."

"I heard that you moved..." Akito said.

"Yeah what of it?" Kyo asked. "Of course Shigure had to open his big fat mouth."

"No, he didn't tell me. I figured it out by myself. Anyway...Tohru...let me see the ring he gave you."

"Like hell she'll show you." Kyo said to him.

I smiled, "Its beautiful. I'm sure you'll be jealous of it." I said as I showed him the ring on my finger.

"Oh, it is pretty." He said, "Take care of her Kyo." Akito said as he shoved his hands in his pockets and walked away.

"The hell?" Kyo said.

"Akito! Wait!" I shouted.

He turned around, "Hm?"

"If I had a baby shower, would you come?" I asked him.

"Tohru!"

"Pfft. I don't have the time to run around to baby showers." He said as he began running away.

"You're still invited to mine."

"So he won't come, that's reassuring." Kyo sighed, "Come on Tohru. We can either go somewhere else or go home. What do you want to do?"

"Mmm, I want to go home and tell Yuki about everything that has happened today." I replied to him.

Kyo smirked, "Yeah, I'm sure he'll be jealous."

"Hmm? Why?" I asked.

Kyo looked like he said too much, "Ummm because....he doesn't have a girlfriend or fiancee..."

"Oh. Okay, let's go." I grabbed his hand and we began to walk home.
