I starred at my wrist for probably 10 seconds. The agent in front of me did the same thing. Then we shared a short look befor I turned around, stormed past Daniel and Mike and back into the apartment and into the bedroom. There, in the far corner of the closet was my backpack. I grabed my thick brown jacket and put it on. While I was walking back to the agent and my still stupid looking boyfriend and his bestie, I swung the backpack over my shoulder.

I put the earpiece in and turned it on. „Divison Agent Tess Miller online. Do you copy?".

I reached the hallway and walked right to the agent without paying any attention to Daniel or Mike.

The earpiece turns on again and I heard a female voice coming through. „Copy. Division Agent Faye Lao here. I am the head of the whole operation. The rendevouz point is marked on the map. See you there. Over."

The earpiece went silent and I turned on the map. As Division agent you have a special contact lense for your eye. It projects the map directly onto the floor in 3D. Other agents can see the map as well.

„Are you going to the rendevouz as well?" I asked him while looking at the map. He noded and answered shortly „Yep. Need more ammo. There are a lot of crazy people out there tonight. It's getting worse." I closed the map after studying it. „Then we bettter get going. I just have my handgun for now. 9 Bullets left and 4 more magazines." We started to walk towards the steps when a confused voice stopped us. „Tess? You can't go out there! And... what is happening? I don't understand!". I took a deep breath turned around and looked him dead in the eyes. „Daniel... You are a selfish idiot. Go back inside, fix that door and stay were you are. Even when I would explain things to you, you wouldn't understand them. So shut up and do what you are told to do for once in your misreable life." I turned back around but stopped. I looked over my shoulder and said my last words to him „oh... and we are over."

With that I made my way towards the stairs. I didn't turn around. This was my old life. This was not me anymore. The other agent followed me and tried to surpress his grin. „uhhh...ouch. That hurts. My name is John. John O'Brien."

I lightly chuckled „Believe me... no hard feelings. I was stuck with these two morons for weeks now. I was hoping to get activated sooner. Do you know what happened to the first wave of agents?" I asked while we were making our way down the stairs.

„For all I know, they are dead or missing. I was activated yesterday so I don't really have a clue either." We reached the botton of the stairs and John opened the front door.

„Alright, it takes about 25 minutes by foot to reach the renedouz point. We better keep going".

It was the first time in weeks that I was outside. In that time a lot has changed. There is trash everywhere. Cars are standing on the streets with lights still on. There is a dog walking in the distance. The air is thick with the smell of smoke. You can hear gunshots in the distance.

This was a sight you usually see in apocalyptic movies. But now it's the reality.

John and I were walking from block to block trying to avoid as much trouble as possible.

We checked the map one last time. „Just two blocks. Then we'll be there." said John. I just noded and checked my gun again.

We walked around the corner only to be greeted with the sound of gunfire. Without thinking John and I ran the rest of the way towards the main base. There were a lot of JTF officers already shoting at the Rikers that had taken over.

In the middle of it all was Faye Lau with an injured leg.

I made my way towards one of the stone barricades and started firing at the enemy. There were officers falling left and right but twice as many Raiders were falling on the opposite side. To my right was John. He bumped my shoulder and motioned with his hand that he is going to cover me, so I can take out the Raiders on the left. I noded and he held up his fingers, counting down from 3. When he put down his last finger I started to run towards the far left side. From that position I could easily kill the Raiders. Shortly after that the fight was over. Faye Lau was transported inside. Many JTF officers followed them. John and I met infront of the entrance. „That fight was intense" I said while I reached him. He took of his cap and went through his brown hair. „Oh it was, but at least we've won." I noded my head but I knew that this was only a small victory. There would be more fights and it was only a matter of time until our luck would run out.
