Untitled Part 20

When I woke up the next day I could hear someone talking downstairs, It sounded like Brittany, I couldn't make out the other voice though, I sat up so I could hear better.
I felt Subaru wrap a arm around me from behind.
"Amaya, Your still awake?" He whispers in my ear, he must have just woke up, his voice is really soft and groggy
"Yea, sorry...Did I wake you?" It was still day time, no one should be up right now...maybe I should go check it out?
"Well I wasn't completely asleep, I kept hearing voices." Subaru says with a yawn.
"You heard those too?" I turn to look at him and he nods
"It's that girl Brittany, and some other person...I think it's Laito.." He said the last part in a groan
"I'll be right back, I'm going to go check it out." I say as I get out of bed, Subaru makes a noise of agreement.. I think he is falling back asleep.
I walk down the stairs quietly, trying not to make the slightest noise, as I get closer to the stairs, I can tell that it is Laito and Brittany.
"No, Now move." I can hear Brittany say, I can't see what's happening
"Aww..why not?" I can hear Laito complain
"How many times do I have to tell ya, I have a fiance!" Brittany yelled, oh now I see what's going on. I couldn't help but giggle, Laito was hitting on Brittany and she was rejecting him.
"Your not married yet, so we can still have some fun right?" I heard a loud thump
"So persistent.." Brittany sounded like she was slightly struggling
"Fufu, it will be like a private female bachelor party." Laito said just barely above a whisper, all of a sudden there was a loud slapping sound.
"No, Plus I've already had one, so if you'll excuse me." I heard more shuffling and then footsteps coming my way, I was just about to run back when suddenly the foot steps stopped
"Don't be like that, what your fiancé doesn't know won't kill him." Laito said, I peeked around the corner slowly, Laito had grabbed Brittany's wrist as she tried to walk away. Maybe I should go help her? As I was about to go, Someone grabbed me from behind, I was about to scream but a hand covered my mouth. I had a flash back of when me and Yui were kidnapped and I start to panic.
"Calm down it's just me." I hear Subaru whisper in my ear "Just let them work it out themselves, it's not like Brittany is human...she can handle it herself, plus this might be interesting." Subaru takes his hand off my mouth and I just nod.
"Why can't you go bug some other girl." Brittany jerked her wrist out of his grasp, Laito stands up
"Your staying here for a week." Laito says with a smile, but his eyes look dangerous as his drops low
"You don't want to make me a enemy.. you will regret it." Brittany turns around with a smile
"Look, I'm going to be nice since this is your house and all. I'm used to making enemies, so as far as I'm concerned your just another one, now goodnight." Brittany then walks back to Yui's room, leaving Laito dumbfounded. Wow I didn't anyone could hate Brittany, she is so sweet. I heard Subaru chuckle.
"I told you that would be interesting.. Now lets go back to bed." Subaru picked me up bridal style and took me to his room.
"Hey! I can walk!" I laughed
"This is more fun." Subaru said and put me on his bed, I laid my head on his chest and fell asleep. I dreamed about all the stuff that has happened to me since I've been here. Through everything I've been through, Subaru was always there to help cheer me up.
I woke up around 7pm Subaru was still asleep, I remembered that they have school in about a hour or so, I should let him sleep.
I wonder if Yui and Brittany are awake yet? I walked down the stairs, and on the couch I saw Teddy, I wonder why he's out here? Is Kanato asleep? Its not like him to leave Teddy laying around. I walked past a window and saw that it was raining.
"Kanato?.." I knocked on the door, there was no answer, I was a little worried so I opened the door excusing myself as I came in.
"Kanato, I have Teddy you left him on the couch." Kanato was sitting on his bed with his knees drawn up to his chest.
"Kanato are you okay?" I sit on his bed cautiously, he shakes his head
"I'm cold.." He says unemotionally, I grab a blanket and put it over him, my hands accidently brushed against his arm.
"You are cold!" I say in surprise, his skin is ice cold, it's colder then it should be. Kanato suddenly wraps his arms around me desperately
"K-Kanato what are you doing?" I say, but I stay still
"Don't leave me alone, please." Kanato sounds like he's going to cry, I feel really bad for him.. I have never seen him so sad
"Kanato.." I say his name
"I hate the rain, it makes me feel so cold and alone." He says in a whisper, I pat his head like he's a child even though he's older then me.
"Okay, do you want Teddy?" Kanato nods so I hand him Teddy. I stay with him until Reiji comes in his room and tells him to get ready for school
"Amaya, you and Yui also need to go to school while you are here." Reiji tells me when he comes in
"What!? But, what about Brittany?" I ask, Reiji pushes his glasses up the bridge of his nose
"She will go as well, I'll sign her up when we get to school." Reiji tells me to hurry and get dressed, as I start to leave..
"Where are you going?" Kanato asks, it has stopped raining so he shouldn't feel sad anymore.
"I have to go change, for school." I say and get up, Kanato nods and I leave.
I really did not want to go back to school...
