you scrunched your nose and shuddered under the thick layers of blanket wrapping around your body.

the door to your bedroom opened slightly, letting light seep through the gaps, heat entering your room little by little. your classmate stood by the doorway, staring at you with the usual smug face he had.

"y/n, do you need hot chocolate?" he asked gently, a cup already held by his right hand, slender fingers still holding the doorknob.

you nodded repeatedly, clenching the blanket and pulling your pillow to hug. winters were always like this ever since rintarou became your roommate, an opportunity to live like a hermit crab. the fox-eyed entered the room quietly, almost going unnoticed by you. he held another cup in his left hand, smoke emerging from it.

"you're an angel." he muttered, tracing your jaw and your plump lips. you hastily tried to chase his lips with yours, eager to feel his lips on yours once again.

"you're a literal goddess, y/n." suna cooed you more, his half-lidded eyes staring at you intently.

"rin." you muttered under your breath, "i love you."

he kissed you gently, the tingling sensation in your heart coming back again. your lips matched each other like puzzles, his teeth tugging on your bottom lip gently. much to your dismay, he halted, sighing in relief before showing you a bare smile.

"sleep early, y/n. we have a competition tomorrow and i'd like you to cheer for me." you nodded like a dog, your hair slightly bouncing by how aggressive your nodding is.

"i love you rin." hence, he never answered. when he left, you looked as if you were released from a magical spell, the flirty smile plastered on your face transitioning into a frown. you looked around the room and unsteadily stood up, sparks of cold hitting your nerves as your feet hit flat on the cold concrete.

"i...love you," lost. that was how you felt during that night. you couldn't sleep properly, a thought dwelling in your mind, keeping you awake for hours while jostling around repeatedly on your mauve-colored bed.

you remembered the day when he first found you, a smile returning on your face, your eyes glinting with tiny hearts.

finally, you slept with a scintilla of love in your heart.
