neglect

"rinnn," you whined endlessly, trying to grab suna's attention, who was chatting someone with a small smile on his face. you peeked at his phone and saw the girl from the party, flirting with him

you wanted to cry spot-on, but you didn't have the right to. he wasn't yours, and it was an unrequited love; at least for you.

being the paranoid you are, you moved away, afraid that you might anger the guy more. you watched as he smiled for another woman, leaving you to ponder on your own thoughts.

"rintarou," he glanced at you before turning at his phone again, "i'll take a bath, okay?"

suna didn't even bother to nod and just continues smashing his fingers on the keyboard of his phone. you took this as a yes and made your way to the bathroom alone.

the cold water prickled your skin, as you got used to rintarou joining you in your bath. the scent of orchids somehow calmed your nerves while scrubbing your silk-like hair.

you jumped out of the bathroom and securely wrapped a towel around your body, "rintarou?"

still no answer.

'what if he was cooking? what if she was just a friend?' you thought to yourself while putting on an oversized shirt and a short. daydreaming, you unconsciously returned to suna's lap while continuing on telling yourself sweet lies.

"y/n, what are 'ya thinking about?" he asked you, staring at your eyes for a second before turning to his phone once again.

"n-nothing, rin."

you fumbled for your phone in you pocket and opened the picture of the necklace you had always wanted.

a sigh escaped your lips as you clicked your phone off, dozing off with negativity lurking in your head. a stray tear dropping on your cheeks.

this was the first time you felt neglected, or was it?
