Nifflers and New Friends

I walked up the stairs and started my way to the library. I went to the back where my favourite books were and sat down on the floor with a book about dragons. I read for a few hours but was interrupted by a loud commotion an isle over.

"Ron! This is a library! You're going to get us in trouble!" Hermione whisper yelled.

"There's no teachers in here it's fine." Ron said at normal volume. Hermione shushed him. "Blimey Hermione it's not that serious."

"Ronald Weasley it is! I am not about to get kicked out or worse banned from the library because of you." She turned the corner and saw me. "Oh, hello (y/n)! Didn't see you there."

"Hi. Sorry I'll get out of your way." I said looking down, not able to make eye contact with Ron's angry gaze.

"No you're fine. Maybe you can help us find something? You seem to know this section pretty well."

"Mione have you lost your mind?"

"I've read all the books in this section more times than I'd care to admit." I said chuckling to myself still looking at the ground. "What are you guys looking for?"

"A book about Nifflers. Hagrid told us to read up on them." Hermione said.

"Is he going to let you guys make friends with our own?"

"Yes he is!"

"I've got one he let me name. They're so cute. How many books do you need? There's 5 of them right over here." I got up and lead them over to the section.

"How did you get one?" Ron asked skeptically.

"I'm friends with Hagrid."

"Since when?" he asked bluntly.

"Ron!"

"What? Hagrid doesn't like Draco anymore than we do."

"She isn't Draco!"

"It's okay Hermione, I get it. I signed up for this when I started seeing him. It's nothing I'm not used to." I shrugged.

"It's not okay! Ronald she is my friend and you will treat her as such!" she exclaimed smacking his arm before turning to me. "And you! Stop telling me that people mistreating you is okay!"

"Sorry." I mumbled.

"Who else mistreated her?" Ron asked.

"Are you really that dense? Remember what your brothers where saying the other day?"

"Oh bloody hell! Right sorry."

"You guys asked the twins about the fight?"

"We had to (y/n). I was worried you weren't telling us the whole story."

"He didn't hit me Hermione. He just got really close."

"That's what they said too. Would you like to come with us to see Hagrid?" she asked.

"Yeah if that's okay. I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable."

"It's not your job to make people comfortable."

"No but it does seem to be what I'm best at."

"Harry's going to love this surely." Ron said earning a glare from Hermione.

"Let me deal with Harry." She said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Luna is already there with Harry. The twins might join us later."

"I hope they don't bring up what happened. I don't think it was that serious. It hasn't happened again. I just pushed too far and made him too angry."
