Natasha...
I stirred awake in my own bed, my body aching from head to toe. "Your awake." I rapidly spun around to see Theo standing at the end of the bed, glaring deadly into his eyes. "What are you doing in my room?" I questioned pushing myself up.
"Just checking up on you." He replied flatly moving towards the door, his hand brushed against the doorknob. "Hey," I blurted out. "I..erm, want to thank you for...you know helping me." I stumbled upon my words unsure of what to say. Slowly he looked at me with a glimpse of despair in his eyes, he was hesitant at first before his feet walked him towards me. He sighed brushing a strand of hair behind my ear, my whole body stiffened. "I should be thanking you, Love." He whispered, "I messed up, put you in danger again because of something I did."
I smiled, a genuine one. "I didn't really give you much of a choice," I shrugged. "So technically I put myself in danger, not you." I pressed poking his muscular chest. He returned the smile, a devilish one that would make any girl fall at his feet. "I have to ask you something.." He mused as I cocked my head to the side nodding for him to go on, "Before you went in the cage..you said to me." He looked down at his feet.
"I've got your six." I finished. He looked up his eyes meeting mine, confused. Full of curiosity.
"Yeh.." He dragged, "How did you remember?"
My eyebrows creased at the centre, "I—"
A loud deafening alarm blared through the manor, I bolted towards my bedside table grabbing my gun and strapping it to my thigh whilst Theo opened the hidden weapons cabinet behind the wardrobe. Red flashing lights lit up the room.
"Did you forget to restock this cabinet?" Theo asked, I continued putting my knives into the slots in my jacket. "There's only one smoke grenade, two stun grenades and an M16." He continued.
"That's normally enough for me," I explained shrugging. "Take the M16, I've got extra magazines in the draw."
He nodded swinging the assault rifle around his shoulders. I walked towards the door sliding the earpiece into my ear, handing Theo a pair. "The system will be down but these two are connected so we can communicate," I stated.
"Copy that." He smirked placing his hand on the doorknob, I placed my left hand on his shoulder. Once I tapped his shoulder he swung the door open holding his gun in both hands pointing it to the left, then right. "Clear." He whispered.
"I'll take the left, you go right. We meet downstairs in the hall." I instructed waving my hands, as he nodded. We both began to walk our separate ways, without a glance back.
I stalked down the corridor, everything seems fine. The corridors were clear, with no sign of life. "Theo, what's your status?" I whispered.
Silence.
All I could hear was my rapid heart beating in my chest, "Theo?" I whispered again slightly louder.
"All clear." Theo's voice said in my ear. I let out a breath as I started walking downstairs towards the hall but coming to a halt as I saw a door slightly open, the conference room. Slowly I opened the door with my gun pointing forward.
Nothing could've prepared me for what was inside. Gabe, Zara, Tony and Papa all unconscious on the floor, dead? I don't know. I ran over without a care in the world and searched them for any entry wounds.
The door squeaked causing me to jump, My gun already up aiming at the door. "Roman," I whispered and sighed in relief putting the gun back into the hoister. "What happened?" I questioned referring to the bodies on the floor.
He looked at the floor with a stunned expression, "Are they dead?" He asked running over to Gabe checking his pulse.
"No, all alive just unconscious." I stated with a finger on my ear, "Theo?" Again there was a long silence. "Theo report?" Nothing.
