Monday – 3.30 P. M.

Shiro snatched the cap back from Tora's hand, "I wear a cap to protect my head when I'm on the sideline, but I guess you wouldn't have to worry even when the ball hits your head. Does the mohawk make you more aerodynamic when you miss your serves?"

"S-she remembered our practice from Saturday..." Tora stared in amazement.

"Wow, you made her snap," Kuroo smirked at his underclassman.

"You're not any better, Kuroo. I still wonder how you managed to play for years with only one eye," Kenma joined in.

"Hey! Why did you have to bring me up? I still did just fine, didn't I?"

Shiro threw her cap and tied her hair in a ponytail as the hat flopped perfectly next to Nekomata-sensei, "Let's start with passing drills then."

"Hahaha..." laughing was the only appropriate respond her grandfather could come up with. "It seems like you've gotten even better. Now you have a whole team under your paw."

"You heard the lady," the captain clapped to wake the zombified players up. "Pick a partner and grab a ball. You know the gist."

Everyone quickly paired up and went to their own corners. Shiro stood on the opposite side of the net as Kuroo as she analyzed the people around her.

'They are a pretty well-rounded team with solid defense technique. They have a good game sense and teamwork from what I've seen so far; with the exception of that brick wall of a first-year. Offense and serves could definitely be stronger, but still enough for now. You have a pretty reliable team here, old man,' the manager thought.

Bam!

'That sound!' her quick reflexes and intuition allowed her to turn and spot the ball floating above the net. 'A normal jump serve? I'm disappointed.'

Shiro jumped straight up and aimed her gaze to the left side of the court. Kuroo picked up on the tell and shifted accordingly.

Thump... Tap... Tap...

The ball was pushed straight down, almost with no effort. The setter landed on her feet and smirked smugly at the captain.

"Did she just score by giving a decoy hint?" Tora caught the ball and halted his drill.

"Yeah, but it's only effective once. It's still impressive to do something without looking though. And her reaction time from hearing the serve was something else," Kenma commented.

"I'm not falling for that next time!" Kuroo groaned.

"Do a real jump serve now," she challenged as she positioned herself about a few inches from the end line.
