His eyes were glued to her as she walked into the classroom. Tsukishima watched as she went to the back of the classroom to grab her textbooks before heading back to her seat in front of him. His eyes never once left her.
"Hmm," Yamaguchi hummed.
"What?" Tsukishima asked turning to his friend.
"Huh? Oh, nothing," Yamaguchi said with an odd smile on his face.
Tsukishima frowned and looked out the window to his left. As the day passed slowly, he continued to occasionally glance at Takahashi before quickly looking away and out the window again. Occasionally he would see Takahashi looking at him as well and giving him a smile, but throughout the whole day, they didn't say a word to each other. It was like a game of touch and go. You make eye contact and then you go. Nothing was exchanged other than a mere glance.
After Takahashi came to watch practice, she hadn't been back. Tsukishima kept glancing at her, hoping she would ask if she could join again but he found himself watching her leave the school grounds after classes right after the bell dismissed them from school.
"Guess she has to pick up her niece," Tsukishima murmured to himself.
"Hmm?" Yamaguchi asked as they made their way to the clubroom.
"Nothing," Tsukishima said.
"Takahashi's been really busy lately, don't you think?" Yamaguchi asked.
"Whatever," Tsukishima replied, "It's not my problem."
Yamaguchi hummed again but didn't say anything as they arrived at the clubroom.
After a long practice, Tsukishima found himself trudging home, tired and a bit irritated. Yamaguchi left first, his house being in the other direction than Tsukishima's. He waved as they got off the bus and started to jog back home as if he still had energy after the torturous practice that Coach Ukai made them go through.
As he started to go inside his phone buzzed and Tsukishima paused outside his door to check the text. He pulled out his phone and saw that it was Yamaguchi. About to ignore the text, Tsukishima paused again and opened the text.
Yamaguchi:
Hey, Takahashi just texted me. She needs help with math.
I told her I'm not very good at math. Could you help her?
Tsukishimma frowned, "What game are you playing, Tadashi," he frowned and pulled up Takahashi's contact. Unsure if he should call or text her, Tsukishima first went inside and took off his shoes. He dropped his bag at his desk and changed into some casual clothes before pulling his phone out again and texting Takahashi.
Tsukishima:
Yamaguchi said you needed help with math.
Not even a minute passed before his phone chirped indicating he got a text.
Takahashi:
Yeah, would you mind helping me?
Tsukishima:
Sure. Want to meet at a cafe near by?
Takahashi:
I can't leave the house because of Kiko.
My big sis is coming home late. This might be too much to ask but. . .
