Chapter Nine: New Beginnings

         I woke up this next morning up the next morning admiring the sight next to me they laid there so peacefully so I tried my best not to wake them or so I thought I did I snapped a quick picture of them before turning to get out of the bed.

        "Where you think you going, baby ?" I heard Kartier's voice say in a sleepy tired tone I thought this man was sleeping I just turned around.

         "Just going to the restroom babe I'm coming right back to bed," I stated in a reassurance tone without turning back around to him I guess he was okay with what I said because he didn't say anything else after that.

        While sitting on the toilet I checked my Instagram news feed because my phone blew up after I posted my engagement ring many people commented "congratulations" and the eyeball emojis.

  I knew that would get a lot of people's attention and missed calls from Bri, Sherice, and a few others I hadn't heard from in years these motherfucker's just wants to be nosy, but I wasn't giving up and details.

        I had messages from Bri, Sherice, My momma, and Lavon I opened each one as I got to Lavon's message my heart raced and I got nervous as hell for some odd reason honestly didn't know how he would react.

As I sat there reading the message he texted me my heart broke into a million pieces and I was lost for words I didn't expect any of them from him, but it was time I moved on he did so why couldn't I?

The message read............

       "Look Asani it's fucked up that I had to see this on social media you couldn't even be woman enough to tell me that y'all are fucking engaged I had to see It on my TL your serious right this was my boy in school bro! You just gone hurt me like that you act like I don't love you I know I fucked up bro I know I hurt you but you can't marry him what about my family my son man you went let another nigga raise my son. You have gone allow someone else to make you happy and spoil you right man the just fucked up g why would you say yes man without talking to me first and seeing how I felt."

      I couldn't do anything, but sit on the toilet and cry sitting there in confusion I didn't know how to respond to him or where to even begin to think of what to say who was I kidding though I knew he would be hurt and furious.

     I guess I was taking too long in the bathroom because in my crying Johno walked into the bathroom I tried quickly to straighten up my face, but that didn't go according to plan his voice was stern yet soft

  "what's the problem baby girl and don't lie to me?" he said while raising his eyebrows at me I was going to lie to him so I just handed him my phone allowing him to read the message from Lavon.

      As he stood there scanning the message with his eyes I got up from the toilet and stood in the mirror after washing my hands and brushing my teeth I was prepared and ready to text Lavon back.

      "Babe can I have my phone please?" he stood there piercing a hold in my phone as if Lavon could see the anger he felt he just shoved the phone in my hand and walked out of the bathroom without a word.

      I continued my morning routine to give him time to think and cool off it was not even 24 hours and my engagement was hell like what do I do from here this wife shit was going to be hard and I prayed that everything would go according to God's plan.

       "Come on daddy baby let's get you fresh like me so we can go holla at some girls." he said looking down at Asan simultaneously picking him up from the bouncer seat. "get your ass beat you not turning my baby into a hoe!" I spat mugging the shit out of him I see he had jokes staring early in this marriage he gone make me fuck him up.
