Chapter Seven: A Deep Past

I woke up the next morning with a slight head, cottonmouth, and blurred vision I could hear machines beeping around me.

       Sherice: "Hey friend you okay?" I heard a familiar voice ask me I was in deep confusion as to why was I in a damn hospital and where the hell was my son.

       "Hey, Sherice what happen, where's Asan? I asked as I sat up in the hospital bed I didn't remember anything that happens I looked around to see my baby sleeping so peacefully in his car seat.

               Sherice: " Well a lot happened we were at Kartier's party everything was perfect and everyone was enjoying themselves. The. He asked you to marry him you fainted the paramedics were called Lavon showed up out of nowhere.

          Kartier and he got into a squabble Kartier told me to go with you and Asan to the hospital. He's been calling every hour to make sure you were okay and everything and did I mention he asked up to marry him, girl."

          I tried to keep up with Sherice and her rant, but I got lost in the conversation the main things I grabbed from what she said. Johno asked me to be his wife, Lavon got his ass beat, and I fainted why the hell was Lavon there.

          "Hi, Ms. King I'm nurse Garcia you were brought here last night I have your discharge papers right here ready for you. Your gonna feel a little woozy the remainder of the day and maybe a little tomorrow drink plenty of water and Gatorade. Do you have any questions for me?"

        " No ma'am thank you I'm fine thank you," I told her as I smiled in the assurance I was ready to get the hell out of here I just couldn't stand hospitals.

         I got out of bed and got dressed and headed out of the doors the whole way I was silent and in my thoughts. Johno was gone for two weeks and I had a lot I needed to get done I had mail coming in for me to get rid of Bigmama's house but I just wasn't ready for that.

        Staring out the passenger window lost in my thoughts how was I going to accomplish all of these things by myself I had to go back home and sell grandmas house and handle a lot of old legal matters.

          I was the only one she trusted on her estates and properties the rest of the family tried to take and sell her things to profit off them instead of doing what her will stated they were greedy and a bunch of assholes.

               I hated them for the things that they did to her especially my demon ass uncle he did things to me and her.

          I hated his guts my grandmother couldn't control him he would just push her around I finally opened up about the things he was doing to me.

My momma and Sherice agreed to go back and forth between taking care of AsanDell for me while I was out of town facing these fears of mine.

      I decided on leaving in the morning so that I could enjoy my baby one more night before leaving him.

         I let Sherice stay at my house for the time being because it would be easier for them to go back and forth I gave her a spare key I had hidden in the house.

I thought about the conversation between her and before we left the hospital did he really propose to me.

why did I faint instead of stating how I felt in my heart I know I wanted him more than anything in the world right now.

          I wanted so badly to call him, but I was lost for words and I didn't know if he was upset with me or not.

  I was afraid to call Sherice and I decided on getting something to eat and going back to my place and watching movies all night.
