⚛【Ｔｉｍｅ Ｗａｒｐ】⚛ (Myth Kids Spinoff)

I wanted to start writing some regular chapters opposed to profile chapters. There are more character profiles I'm writing, though.

Characters: Takanashi Shinotori

Sal lazily flicked her tail as she continued scrolling through Reddit. Behind her, she was vaguely aware of Shino snacking on something while watching an episode of Animal Planet that she'd seen around 7 times.

The afternoon had an aura of laziness, which is why neither Sal or Shino were doing anything important.

Nothing on Reddit was really catching the young half shark's attention, but Sal wasn't sure what would after doing it for at least an hour and only finding maybe 2 or 3 posts funny. She could hear Shino finish whatever she was eating and then scrunch up the packet, tossing it at the waste bin beside Sal's desk and missing. Shino sighed.

"Heey Sal?" Sal turned around and let her tail flop on the floor. Looking at Shino, she had to admit that she looked kinda cute with the way she had one of her blankets hung loosely around her shoulders.

Sal didn't say anything, but made a small noise to show she was listening.

"Could you put that in the bin for me?" The reaper/phoenix smiled, showing her pointed canines. Sal sighed and rolled her eyes but picked up the crumpled packet and dropped it into the bin.

They continued in silence for who knows how long? Until that boring patch was broken by a meme. It wasn't particularly eye-catching, but Sal checked it nonetheless.

It displayed 4 separate panels with 2 people in each of them. Sal scrunched her forehead, the positions they were in reminded her of a few anime series she watched. Looking at the second panel, Sal studied it further. She didn't know why, maybe it was the detective in her.

The smaller figure had their hands to their face as they blushed, while the taller figure stood in front of them using one of their legs to create a barrier.

Sal looked at the picture, then subtly turned around and looked at Shino who had returned to happily watching tv, though it no longer played Animal Planet. She then looked back at her screen.

Sal silently chuckled to herself. Should she do it? It would probably be funny, right? It totally wouldn't be gay or anything. Right?

"Hey.. Shino" Sal leaned over backwards on her chair, propping her feet up on her desk. Shino looked over from the show she was watching, which Sal recognized as Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid.

"Yeah? Do you need something" Shino wrapped the blanket around her shoulders a little more tightly. Sal felt her heart speed up slightly.

"Would you mind grabbing us a few snacks? Maaybe some chips?" Sal leaned back a little more, not even flinching when she heard her hat hit the floor with a small 'thump'. 

Shino stretched her arms above her head and stood up, letting the blanket fall to her elbows before she left the room.

It was at this point that Sal seriously started considering if she should do this. It wouldn't be too awkward, they'd known each other since before they could remember, plus Shino was pretty chill when it came to taking jokes.

The time silently ticked away, and it was either because of her nervousness or the fact that Shino was just taking her time that Sal felt that it had been hours since Shino had left. Her tail started thumping against the floor and she resumed browsing Reddit out of boredom again, once again finding nothing too entertaining.

Sal felt her heart rate increase and a smirk forming when she heard Shino's footsteps approaching her door again. As quickly and quietly as she could, Sal hid somewhat behind the open door. Her train of thought went something like Shino comes through the door, then stops when she doesn't see Sal. Said half shark would then quickly close the door and kabedon her. Yeah, that'd work.

She heard the sound of crunching as Shino walked through the door with the requested packet of chips, snacking on a few. She stopped, looking confused when she didn't see Sal anywhere in the room. Sal almost forgot to move with how nervous she was, but she stubbornly went through with it.

Not five seconds later, Shino was now a flustered mess, Sal was heavily contemplating whether she should've done this or not and the packet of chips was now on the floor, some of its contents spilled around their feet.

The two just stared at each other, both with heavy blushes on their faces. While Sal has a toothy smirk on her face, Shino's mouth was open slightly and her eyes were wide with shock.

Sal half expected to have her leg start aching due to having it at an awkward angle, but it surprisingly didn't. But even this thought couldn't distract her from the awkward feeling in the air.

"Sal.." Shino squeaked out after a few seconds of silence. Sal started to inwardly panic about what she would say.

"Uh.. Yeah?" Sal responded. Shino tried to avert her eyes.

"This is kinda gay" The reaper/phoenix said quietly. Sal felt a little chuckle building up at her embarrassed response. The half did end up letting out a muffled giggle, which caused Shino to look up and give her a grin.

Sal felt relieved seeing that grin, knowing that it meant no harm was done. Behind them, the opening to another episode of Dragon Maid continued on happily, just making them laugh harder.

"C'mon. Let's clean up this mess and watch something. You looked really bored looking through Reddit" Shino walked around Sal, who had placed her foot back on the ground.

They quickly cleaned up the spilled chips, and since they had been on the ground for more than five seconds, Sal begrudgingly chucked them in the bin.

By the time Sal had finished this, Shino had sat back down on Sal's beanbag, with the blanket once again wrapped around her shoulders.

"Hey, scooch! It's my beanbag" Shino laughed as she tried to push off Sal. Sal playfully shoved her back, getting enough space and somewhat comfortably sit down. Beside her, Shino huffed but quickly wrapped the blanket around Sal's shoulders. It took awhile for them to stop giggling, but once they did Sal chanced resting her head on Shino's shoulder. She felt anxiety building up again, but relaxed when Shino leaned into her more.

'Yeah, they're kinda gay' Ina smirked when she quietly closed the door, thinking about how the others would react when they found out about this.
