Her Choice

Chapter Two

I walk out my bedroom door, and down my stairs, slowly.

Then, Jacob walks in front of the staircase and looks up to see me.

His eyes widen and a smile slowly comes to his face. At the sight of it, I smile as well.

Jacob is so... handsome. I mean, don't get me wrong, he is always hot, but right now, he is perfect.

I make it to the bottom of the stairs and stand right in front of him.

"Wow..." Jacob says as his eyes scan me. "You look absolutely beautiful, Elena."

I feel my cheeks get warm at this as I smile even more. "Thanks, Jake," I say before my eyes find a will of their own to scan my boyfriend up and down. "You look.... amazing."

And I mean it. Jacob's wearing a black suit with white dress shirt and a black tie. And, his hair is done in the normal way he has it, but it completes his look.

I was half expecting him to be shirtless. Not that I'd complain.

"I don't know, 'beautiful' isn't the word I'd BEGIN to describe this gorgeous being!" Dad exclaims, walking from the table to me, Mom's hand in his.

Dad's wearing a gray tee shirt, a brown plaid overshirt, jeans, and tennis shoes. Mom wears a blue blouse, jeans, and black ballet flats. And they are both wearing smiles.

I laugh at this as I walk towards them. "Thanks, Daddy." I say.

"Although... there IS something missing..." Mom trails off, smiling.

She pulls her other hand from behind her and shows me a necklace. A beautiful diamond necklace.

"Oh my god..." I say, staring at it. "Mom, it's beautiful!"

She smiles and nods in agreement. "Yes, it is," she says, fondly. "Your mom gave this to me my first marriage."

I smile at this. I remember how my mother was, kind, loving, and... good. Everything about her was good.

I love Sue as my mom and Charlie as my dad, but I still love my parents, Mark and Amy. I miss them so much.

"When she first gave this to me, I tried to convince her that it was too much." Mom explains. "But she was stubborn so eventually, I gave in. And now, I'm giving it to you."

"No, Mom, you don't have to!" I exclaim, a little frantically.

"Yes, I do!" she urges. "I realize that it really belongs to you and there isn't any way of convincing me otherwise."

I see that there isn't any way of convincing her not to give the necklace and sigh in defeat. She walks up to me and slips the necklace on my neck.

"There..." she says, smiling, as she pulls back. "You're perfect now."

I smile warmly as she hugs me. I love my mom so much... I don't know what I would do without her.

"Well, I have a present for you, too, Elena..." Jacob says, a little fidgety as he gives me a small smile.

I smile as I walk to my boyfriend. "Well, my Alpha, don't keep me in suspense." I say, jokingly. "I wanna see my present."

He smiles even wider as he pulls his hands from behind his back. In his hands is a beautiful white roses corsage.

"Oh, Jacob, it's beautiful," I say after I give a small gasp.

"They're not red roses, you're favorite, but they're the closest thing I could get to it." Jacob says apologetically.

"Oh, it doesn't matter," I brush off as Jake grabs my right hand and slides it on.

"There," Jacob says after he's done. "Absolutely perfect now."

I look at my wrist for a second before looking at Jacob, who's gives me a small smile. I smile at him before I put my hand on his cheek and we both lean in.

Our lips meet in a short but sweet kiss. His warm lips are a bit rough against mine but I don't care.

Things have been so great for us since last March when everything with Isabelle and Klaus happened.

Everything seems to be perfect now. And while it lasts, I plan on enjoying it.
