*Erica's pov*

I am a saint

with the lips of a sinner

He is a sinner

with the lips of a saint

but neither we were

saints nor sinners

A sigh escaped from my mouth as I closed the book and placed it aside, yet was unable to avert my gaze from the hard brown cover of it which was patterned with glimmering golden patterns. My heart yearned to claim the treasure as mine, yet I knew neither this book or those words were mine. Just like this place and the owner of it. It belonged and always belongs with Lilith and Lilith only. I was honestly caught off guard when I found her diary in the swing of that deserted garden. Why would she leave her most treasure book there for me to find?

My attention diverted when there was a loud sound as a very pissed off Mang stepped inside room with Tae hot behind her trail trying to stop her. I immediately pulled the blanket that was wrapped around my waist to cover the book from their preying gaze and they both found me sitting blankly on the bed like I was lost in thought.

"Oh there you are, the saint of the eternity!" Mang uttered with a very fake smile making Tae winced at the hostility that laced her voice. "Accept this low demon's greeting your highness!" She mocked bowing making me narrow my eyes.

"He told you?" I asked guessing that her sudden change of behavior probably has to do something with my earlier outbreak.

"Who do you take him for? A toddler that goes around complaining to his mother about bullies?" Behind her Tae grabbed from her elbow trying to stop her from spouting hurtful words, but the woman was burning with fire. She shrugged her mate off and take a step forward getting closer to me.

"You followed us!" I sighed with  the realization, remembering her bad habit of playing the spy whenever me and Jungkook is together. I am sure Jungkook was probably aware of her presence but decided to not to pay attention though I was truly oblivious.

"He left that child to die. Do you want me to praise him for his deeds?" I asked trying my best not to get angered remembering that situation. That little child's anguish expression was still fresh in my memories, making my heart ache.

"Did you forget he is the devil? You can't hope him to play the guardian angel for mortals!" She snapped clearly loosing her calm demeanor.

"Mang calm-" Tae tried to interrupt.

"Since her highness lack the knowledge of how things work here, allow this filthy demon to shed some light into her highness view!" She uttered making my face screw with total displeasure at her choice of words. Truth to be told that really hurts! "That child died!" She announced as I momentarily closed my eyes, knowing my last bit of hope that he would be saved gone in vain. Beside her Tae sighed rubbing his temples knowing there is no stopping of his mate now.

"But that soul did not arrive here." Mang continued making my eyes raised as something tugged in my mind to make me realize which I clearly failed out of anger. "If my brother helped him like your highness demanded, that child's soul would be bind to hell. And I guess you have an idea of what happened to those souls who seek help from the devil." My eyes widened when finally the reality registered in my mind. Either that child would survive as a demon or get destroyed in the power battle of demons. "I am not trying to justify his actions, but do not forget he is the devil."
