It was an early Monday morning. To be precise, the time was 6:57 and I was downstairs getting ready for school. Quickly, I gathered all my books and shoved them in my bag. I started making my way out the door when I suddenly forgot something.
"Oh! Breakfast." I said to myself as I went to the pantry to grab a granola bar. Again I made my way to the door and stepped outside and locked the front door. Once again my parents were out on a bussiness trip and left me some money for the week. But of course they leave me alone with money but they can't buy me a stupid car so I have to walk to school everyday. I'm the only junior who has to walk to school.
So I made my way down the driveway, munching on my granola bar. I started walking down the sidewalk when I felt someone walking behind me. I started walking faster but still I heard the footsteps. Suddenly I stopped and turned around to be met with a boy I have never seen before.
"Can I help you?" I said annoyed. Who wouldn't be annoyed when someone is following you, and causing you to stop for five minutes and being late for school.
"No."
"Then can you please walk a little slower or maybe on the other side of the street.." I said and turned around and continued walking down the sidewalk. The footsteps continued walking behind me so I just started running to school. I saw it just down the block anyways.
When I arrived at school I quickly went to my locker and got all the stuff I needed for my three periods. I checked the time and it was 7:21 a.m. Thank God I wasn't late.
A few minutes later that same boy that was walking behind me arrived through the gates of the school. I studied his appearance, even though there wasn't much to study. He was wearing sunglasses, with his hood up, and his head down. All I could get was that he was tall with dirty blonde hair.
"Hey! Where have you been? You never show up this late.." Adeline said showing up next to me. Adeline was one of my best friends, we've known each other as long as I can remember. Seriously, we go way back.
"Hey! I've been looking for you everywhere! Why are you late?" Cara said to me. She was also one of my best friends. Again, we go way back.
"Hey guys, some weird kid held me back while I was walking- oh look there he is!" I said quitely and pointed to the guy who was now walking down the hallway, his hood now down and his sunglasses off.
"Him? Oh he's in my goverment class. I think his name is Luke Hemmings I think." Cara said picking through her backpack, probably trying to find her homework that she never does.
"Yeah, he never talks. He's in my math class too. He just sits in the back, alone." Adeline said. Wow, this guy seems so anti-social. Guess I was lucky when he just said 'No' to me.
"Wow, that's weird. I wonder if he's in any of my classes and I just didn't notice." I said and we were off to first period, Reading. This was the only period we were all in, besides lunch of course.
We went into the classroom and took our regular seats in the second row. Everyone came in a few minutes later since we were early. Mr. Stewart ( the teacher ) hasn't arrived yet, so we were all on our phones.
"Hey search up Luke on twitter and instagram, maybe he has like a social life.." Adeline suggested so i shrugged and looked up Luke Hemmings on instagram and twitter.
"Nothing." I said putting my phone away in my bag. Suddenly Luke came in and sat in the back of the classroom with one of the most popular boys, Dylan. The two started talking but Luke didn't seem that interested.
"So he does have friends?"
"Maybe. But judging Luke's facial expression, Luke just wanted Dylan to shut up.
I am determined to know more about this Luke guy.
