The next day when I was heading to school, unexpectedly I see Luke Hemmings walking by my house. I quickly close and lock my front door and start running towards him.

"Hemmings!" I shouted. He took a second to glance back at me, but he just kept on walking. I groaned, already seeming frustrated with him. I bolted next to him, while I was now keeping a normal pace, I was completely out of breath.

"What?" Luke asked annoyed. I raised an eyebrow, while finally being able to speak after catching my breath. "What do you want? You ran away from me yesterday, I prefer you do the same today."

"Let's be friends." I blankly stated. I know I shouldn't have just said it flat down, but there was nothing else to consider. I wanted to be friends with Luke, I wanted to know why I never noticed him, I wanted to know why the popular jocks still talk to him even though Luke looks like a weirdo. Most important of all, I wanted to crack him open, know every detail about him, and I was also pondering if this would somehow get me to a better image at school. Everyone sees me as this snobby rich bitch who only cares about herself, but really I just want to set a better image of myself by cracking Luke.

Luke just stared at me for a moment and chuckled. I was confused, all I said was that I wanted to be friends with him, I thought this was for sure going to work. But apparently not.

"There is no way, as long as I'm alive, that I would be friends with you, Erin Edwards."

"What's so bad about me? All i said was that I wanted to be friends. Is that too much to ask, Luke Hemmings?" I said, folding my arms over my chest.

"You better start runnjng before the bell rings, which is in ten minutes. It takes you approximately fifteen minutes for you to gather your things for your first three periods, and it takes you another five minutes to get to Mrs. Lane's science class. So run, Erin." Luke said and smirked. I was starting to get scared about how much Luke knew about me.

"How did you-"

"Just run! I'm trying to do you a fucking favor Edwards!"

I just decided to do what Luke told me to do and ran. Luke stayed behind and watched me run to school. How the hell did he know so much about me? I never even talked to him before, not even acknowledged his presence anywhere. But apparently he has been paying attention to me.

Finally I arrived in school, with five minutes to spare. I quickly soed to my locker, getting my stuff and heading into the classroom before the final bell. I sat in my usual spot, and Cara and Adeline started screaming at me for why I was almost late.

"The key word is almost. I was almost late, but I wasn't. So stop yelling for fucks sake." I annoyingly said. It was bad enough that I was almost late, so I didn't need either of them yelling at me like they were the complete boss of me. Well hey guess what, if you think you're the boss of me, suck my ass.

"What's got you in a crap mood today?" Adeline asked and laughed. I found no humor in this situation, but knowing her long enough, she doesn't know thr difference between a laugh and a chuckle.

"I stopped to talk to Luke when I was coming out of my house. He was walking right past, so I just talked." I explained. That was literally the story, leaving out the parts where he knew my school schedule.

"Wait, Hemmings?"

"No Cara, Luke the fucking breadstick. Of course Hemm-" I was interrupted by Luke entering the classroom, and everything going silent. Mrs. Lane scoled him for not knocking, showing up without a pass, and being late. But Luke just sat down in his seat, carelessly.

"My goodness Luke. If you keep this up, we'll have to talk to the principle and your parents." Mrs. Lane said and put her hands on her hips.

"You can't talk to what I don't have." My eyes widened, and I heard a few gasps come from the other side of the classroom. I switched my eyes over to the teacher, who was completely and utterly speechless.

I guess craacking Luke Hemmings open would be harder than I thought.
