After a year of civil war and non-stop violence due to massive electoral fraud. The military staged a coup overthrowing the newly elected president who died from a car accident. The elected Vice President who was supposed to take over was held hostage for a week and fled to the United States, after being threatened. Without an authority to govern the country. The military took over, placing themselves on top of the food chain. The newly elected head of the state, the chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines gave himself and his administration a year to draft a new constitution, a quasi-democracy that would open the Philippines to the new world.

''By the powers vested in me by the newly formed constitution, I hereby declare a military government. A new Philippines will be born. For peace, prosperity, progress, technological advancement, and economic stability.
I, together with the People's Republic of China will be ushering a new dawn of enlightenment and globalization hence re-building ourselves from the ashes of yesterday. Ladies and gentlemen, mga kababayan kong Pilipino. Ito ang inyong Bagong Pilipinas.''
