A Chosen Mistake

Chapter One

PROLOGUE

I woke up to the sunlight shinning directly in my eyes. I sit up in bed as I pick up my glasses off the nightstand and I put them on. I step out of bed and enter my drawers looking for clothes. I go to the shower in my bedroom and I take a shower. As Im taking a shower I grab my shampoo bottle and flip the top open and I feel the nice, soft, sticky shampoo hit my palms. As I rub it my hands together and put the shampoo in my hair. As I'm rubbing and smudging the shampoo in my hair and scalp I smell the nice ocean breeze and alcohol smell hit the bathroom. I step out the shower and wrap the towel around me wrapping another towel around my hair. I dry off and I go to the mirror. I do my hair adding the soft fresh moisturizer cream in my hair.

INTRODUCTION

I'm Jade Nicholson and I'm 14

I live with my mom and her boyfriend

my mom is nice and all and can be caring at sometimes but I doubt she loves me

I don't like her boyfriend at all

I was born June 14th

My dad died of food poisoning because something chemical was in the food

I believe my mom did it

She was the one who prepared him the food and her sisters were there

Flashback

We were all at the dinner table and I got ready to eat my food

I was talking to him and he took a bite out of the food and started coughing. I saw that nobody had eaten their food yet so I didn't eat mines because I see my dad was suffering

I sat their trying to help my dad and my mom just sat there

he was choking heavily and couldnt breathe I gave him water and he choked on it I tried helping him out more and asking them for help they just sat there

it was too late I remember myself saying

Jade: dad... Dad...D-dad

I look at him his eyes are open and I realize my dad just died right in my arms of food poisoning I just looked at him holding his head in my hand and him in my arms

Tears start forming in my eyes and I just stare at his pale skin and his purple lips

he was gone and I couldn't do anything

I was only 10 years old I look my mom dead in the eyes and just stare at her in unbearable disappointment

she just let him die

I look at my aunt and they are just looking sad I get up and I see my mom coming up to me

mom: jade I had no choice he was hurting us

Jade: NO YOU WERE HURTING HIM YOU WERE HURTING HIM

I point in her face as I'm yelling i see her sisters trying to calm me down

I grabbed a blade off the dresser and cut one of her sisters and she screamed in pain

My mom backed back and hit the wall

I felt so much powered waves hitting my body as if the darkness my dad had was coming out of him as he was laying on the floor

she looked at me terrified

I just wanted to strangle her to death and watch her try to signal them for help

but like they always say "she's still your mom you have to respect that"

shes not even good at being a mom

She can't even give me the right protection or even trust me enough

she choose her boyfriend over me and believes anything he says

after that day the only thing she saw in my was my father

End of Flashback

I was going to have my first day at Hogwarts Wizarding school tomorrow

I still have love for my mom but day by day when I look in the mirror I see my dad and I remember the days we had when he was here

and when that happens my love for her just slowly drains away

I miss him so much it gets harder everyday he was the only thing I had left

I was already losing stuff when he was here and I lost more of it quickly when he died

I love you dad
