Mizu POV
After the visit to Tamayo-San clinic, my eyesight is finally restored after a full week.
She does warn me that there'll be no next time if I ever use the combi of Vermilion Eyes and my BDA simultaneously.
However, despite I took the cautions to heart, I'm currently filled with dreading sense of guilt.
Or at least, that's what I feel during my and Mayuri-San's next meeting with Kagaya-San.
Mayuri-San proceeds to tell Kagaya-San everything that happens during the last week on Nikko-Shirane, in tears.
"That concludes...our report..." Mayuri-San manages to utter those words with a heavy heart.
After hearing our report, Kagaya-San's faces become gloomy. When we were finally done, Kagaya-San can't help but shed a tear.
"So, both of you say that this is merely a trap created by Shuten, right?" Kagaya-San asked worriedly
"Yeah. We're being fooled by him from the very beginning..." I said while I remember the scene
"I'm really sorry to hear that. Kumone, Azu, and Sara also report the same thing to me before you two. This is entirely my fault."
"O-oyakata-Sama?!" Mayuri-san gasped
"I never foresee this kind of thing before I send the three of you to Nikko-Shirane. I should've taken precautions..."
"NO! THIS IS MY FAULT! I...I..."
That was the last straw before all of the repressed traumatic moments from both Final Selection and the fresh memory of the incident flooding onto me like a tsunami.
"UAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Mizu-Kun, stop being too harsh for yourself! I know that you still have the trauma regarding the Final Selection, but this is not your fault!" I can heard Mayuri's panicked voice, but...
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"MIZU!!!"
"MIZU-KUN!!!!!!!"
That was the last thing I heard before my mind is descending into oblivion...
Mayuri POV
Mizu-kun laid there, apparently knocked out from the extreme grief he had experienced. His mouth is foaming while his face is aghast.
"MIZU-KUN! MIZU-KUN?!" I shouted as I shake Mizu-Kun body, to no response.
"Mayuri-San! Is he still alive?!" In a panic, Oyakata-sama tries to stand up. But due to his illness, he fell on the spot.
"I'll check it right now!" I said as I put my ear on his chest.
DUG...DUG...
There's a pulse from his heart, but it was very weak. Not to mention, that his body temperature goes down real quick from cold to freeze.
"Oyakata-Sama, he's alive, but his pulse is weak. At this rate..."
"Bring him to Tamayo-San for immediate recovery. I'll pay the bill" Oyakata-Sama ordered me.
"On it!"
I hurriedly carry an unconscious Mizu-Kun on my back (He's surprisingly light) and headed toward Tamayo clinic.
However, on the way, I heard several Demon slayers arguing about the current news. Apparently, they already knew about our failure.
But the response of them is all negatives.
