Part 3

"Do you need any help there Jenny?" offered Michelle.
"No I'm perfect as I am" Jenny beamed
"To right you are" Johnny pipped in
"O hello love." Jenny turned to him with a smile
"Two pound fifty please Billy."
"Sorry I nipped out to get Abigail from school" replied Johnny
"O is that the time then, where is she anyway?" asked Jenny eager to see her daughter.
"Just out back taking her shoes off" Johnny said as he looked back to check on Abigail.
"Love mind covering the bar for a sec whole I go see her."
"Yeah course" smiled Johnny
"Ey Chelle why don't you come say Hi."
"O ok yeah if your sure" replied a rather nervous Michelle
"Of course Chell, go right through" added Johnny

"Mummyyyy" screamed Abigail.
"Hello my darling, how was your day?" Jenny said as she placed a kiss on her daughters head.
"Good" replied Abigail. "Erm Hey" she added hiding slightly behind Jennys leg.
"Hey Abi it's ok, this is you Michelle, your cousin" Jenny said softly comforting her daughter.
"Hey" said Michelle as she crouched down to Abigails height.
"Hi" Abigail said as she slowly emerged from behind her mother's leg.
"Hey Abi why don't you go upstairs get changed and you, me and Michelle will have a girly chat when you get downstairs" Jenny said as she encouraged her daughter.
"Ooo ok then" Abigail replied clearly feeling a bit more relaxed around Michelle.
Abigail ran up the stairs while Jenny brought Michelle into the front room or as everyone else called it 'the back' or 'back room'.
"She seems a bit nervous around me, I'll just go back to the bar" said a slightly disheartened Michelle, but she didn't show it because she knew Abigail was adjusting.
"Ah nonsense, stay here, she will have to get to know you at some point" replied a hopeful Jenny.
"I'm back" Abigail said as she ran down the stairs, "o are you going Michelle?" she asked.
"Not if you don't want me to" responded Michelle.
"No you should stay so I can get to know you maybe" you could tell Abigail was nervous in the way she spoke.
Jenny smiled at her daughter then at Michelle. It was a welcoming smile that only a pub landlady could have.
"Ok then and nice jumper" Michelle pointed out.
"Thank you" Abigail smiled. She loved her jumper, it was one of the first things they brought as a family and it wasn't cheap but Jenny wanted the best for her daughter and yet didn't want her to be spoilt.
Michelle, Jenny and Abigail sat talking for about an hour until Johnny came in.
"Are you too gonna do anymore work today?" He asked
Michelle and Jenny looked at eachother.
"No" they both laughed.
"I'll come if it's ok with you too to say here" offered Jenny.
"Yeah of course" Michelle agreed.
Abigail smiled.
"Right come on then" Johnny called to his wife.
Jenny left as she did Johnny grabbed her hand a squeezed it three times. A wave of relief came over then both. Everything was going to be ok.
