Grey eyes

"What are you always so worried about? Every time I see you, you're always so distant" Dean questioned, a frown etched in his face.
"It's just the...Yule Ball" I admitted.
"Don't worry about that I'm sure plenty of boys would love to take you," His eyes twinkling.
"That's not what I'm worried about," I said, biting my lip before explaining the situation with Krum.
"How did you not tell me this before!" Dean exclaimed.
I rolled my eyes at him. He was so overdramatic.

Dean had taken plenty of effort to reassure and convince me that Krum's mother would have forgotten by now but even then I couldn't ignore the nagging at the back of my head.

I couldn't pay attention in Potions, transfiguration or any other class which resulted in me getting extra homework because the teachers thought that I 'desperately need it and it will make me use my brains for once.' At least that's what Malfoy had said after overhearing me complaining about the homework to Dean.

I just couldn't help it, All my thoughts were revolving around the Yule Ball. Perhaps Dean was right and I wouldn't find it hard to get a date but that wouldn't matter if I was forced to go to the ball with Viktor Krum.

I was walking up the stairs heading towards my last class of the day when the stairs started moving. I didn't notice it at first since I was feeling sick.
"Just one more class" I had muttered to myself, staggering up the stairs.
Suddenly my vision became blurry and my knees buckled. I fell to the ground like a crumpled heap. I saw a figure over me and after focusing my eyes I saw a pair of grey eyes and then everything went black.

I woke up in the hospital wing about 12 hours later.
"Well, you're awake. There's nothing to worry about you fainted because of exhaustion, dehydration and stress. You've been asleep for about 12 hours so you can leave whenever you feel ready," Madam Pomfrey said cheerfully.

I tried to get Madam Pomfrey to tell me who had gotten me here but she simply chuckled and muttered some witty response and walked away.

Hermione had come when I was just about to leave the hospital wing.
"Ron, Harry and I had come to see you when you were first admitted here but you were asleep," She explained giving me a hand as we walked back to our dorms.

"Before I fainted I saw these pair of grey eyes and it's ridiculous to think that they were Malfoys but Madam Pomfrey won't tell me who got me here so he's my only bet," I told Hermione

"Well, maybe it was someone that isn't from our year cause Malfoy wouldn't do that for anyone, let alone you." Hermione bit her lip before continuing"When I first came to see you, I saw Malfoy talking to Pomfrey and then walking out but it could be just a coincidence."

We walked back to our dorm in silence. Both of us pondering over who could have gotten me to the hospital wing.

I sat down on the study table with Hermione, Harry and Ron and started to my homework but just like usual I couldn't concentrate. None of them noticed since they all were bickering over something.
I sighed and buried my head in my hands. They all looked up at me, their gaze quizzical.
"I'm going to write a letter to my mother. It'll take the mind off things," I muttered before heading to the owlery.
I wrote the letter. It wasn't long or too short. I wished her well and then told her that I'd rather not go to the ball with Krum if that's what Mrs Krum wants.

That night I slept in peace, and I didn't get any headaches or a feeling of dread.
I didn't know yet but that night would be the last of my serene nights for a long time.
