Paris' POV:
The next morning, I couldn't find Hailey anywhere. I checked her great-grandfather's house- no luck. She wasn't at her house, either. I called her - Please leave a message at the beep. I even tried emailing her, and that was yesterday.
Where was she?
I trotted into Edward Dae, her great grandfather's, home. He smiled. "Hey there, Pear!"
I smiled. "Hi, Mr. Dae, do you know where Hailey is?" I asked.
"Er... Interesting subject. I'm afraid- well, sorry. Um, I need to get back to writing my novel."
That was odd.
He always knew- and told me- where Hailey was. Something was up.
"What are you writing about?" I asked him. I already knew.
" A young farmboy and his hen, Queen. Queen and the boy, October, loved each other so dearly that October ran away, taking Queen with him. Queen had loved October only because he was her caretaker, so when they lived the rich life, Queen broke away from October. October was devastated and became a farmer at a nearby farm, only to find Queen there." I nodded and smiled.
"Hailey and I will buy the first copies!" I exclaimed. He grinned, obviously pleased with himself. I said goodbye and he bid me farewell as I went to search for Hailey.
