Season 1 Episode 1 - A Liar

Chloe Ball is walking through the Chatsworth Estate and a group of older school boys are gathering around smoking cigarettes and as Chloe is passing them one older boy sharply whistles and says "Oi Sexy why don't you come and hang around with the big boys?!" Chloe turns around and scoffs in disbelief and says "In your dreams Loser!" The boy glares at Chloe and marches over to get and Chloe looks taken back and he grabs a fistful of her white school shirt and angrily says "How dare you disrespect me?!". When suddenly another boy shouts "Oi!" Chloe and the angry school boy look towards the voice and Chloe smirks as she sees Lip Gallagher. Lip marches over towards them as he points his finger at The bully and shouts "You let her go now!" and the bullying asks "and who are you? Her Boyfriend?" Lip punches him and the school boy falls back to the ground and his friends all gasp and snigger and Lip says "Nah actually I'm her best mate. You stay away from her or else" Chloe smiles at Lip and Lip holds his arm out for Chloe and says "You ready for school?" Chloe grins as she links her arm with Lip's and says "You betcha" and Lip and Chloe walk off towards the high school.

After school Chloe walks into The Jockey to see her Father, Kevin Ball behind the bar serving Frank Gallagher. As Chloe approaches the bar Kev grins at Chloe and says "Hey Coco how was school?" Chloe shrugs her shoulders as she sits on the bar stool beside Frank and says "Yeah it was okay, just a usual boring day. I popped by your house but the door was locked?" Kev places a cold glass of cola in front of Chloe and a packet of cheese and onion crisps and he says "V must be out with Fiona" Chloe nods. Frank slurs "Where's Lip? You two are usually joined at the hip" Chloe rolls her eyes and says "He's at home but you would know that if you were there mire often and a proper Dad!" Kev scolds Chloe "Chloe!" Chloe rolls her eyes as she drinks her cold drink.

Chloe walks into her house that she shares with her Mother and Stepfather - Sally and Aidan McKenzie. When Aidan is standing in the kitchen drinking a beer leaning against the counter and he asks as she closes the back door "Where have you been?" Chloe replies "With my Dad" Aidan scoffs in disbelief and says "At The Jockey? In some pub?!" Chloe rolls her eyes and says "Says the man who is drinking" Aidan's eyes flash in anger as he backhands Chloe and Chloe's head jerks to the side and she slightly touches her red cheek and Chloe looks to Aidan and Aidan says "You should know better than to back chat me young lady!" and Chloe runs upstairs upset as she cries.

The next morning Sally and Aidan are sitting at the kitchen table eating breakfast as Aidan is reading the newspaper when Chloe walks into the kitchen wearibg her school uniform and school bag and with a bruised cheek caused by Aidan's strike the previous night. Aidan looks at Chloe as does Sally and Sally asks "What happened to your face?" Chloe avoids Aidan's gaze as she looks to her Mother and replies with a lie "I got into a fight at school" Sally asks with a hint of concern "Who with?" Chloe shrugs her shoulders and answers Sally's question "Just a girl at school" and Sally nods convinced.

Chloe walks into The Gallagher house to see Fiona doing the dishes and Fiona glances to Chloe and asks with concern "Oh My God, What happened to you?" Chloe softly smiles and says "I got into a stupid fight at school, oh believe me this is nothing, you should see the other girl" Fiona asks "You okay though?" Chloe smirks and says "Me? I'm always alright Fi y'know that". Lip and Ian walk down the stairs laughing but stop their laughter as they see Chloe's face and Lip rushes to Chloe and gently cups her cheek and asks "Chlo what happened?" Chloe replies "How many times? I got into a fight with a girl at school" and Lip says warily "but I walked with you after school and you didn't get into a fight?" Chloe stammers and says "It- It was after school" Lip and Ian look to each other unconvinced and Ian says "It looks sore Chloe" Chloe shrugs it off and says "Oh this? Its nothing, it looks worse than it is". Lip says "Nah you got that from someone else, it doesn't make sense Chlo" Chloe asks "You calling me a liar?" Fiona interjects "No, he isn't saying that Chloe" Chloe snaps at Fiona and says "No Fiona! Lip's a big boy he can speak for himself! So c'mon Lip spill!" Everybody looks to Lip and just then the door opens and Veronica walks in and she looks around at Fiona, Lip and Ian and Chloe and asks "God, you could cut the tension in here with a knife. Whats going on?" Everybidy remains quiet and Veronica notices Chloe's swollen and bruised cheek and gasps "What happened?" Chloe looks around at everybody and sniffles and snaps "Forget it!" and Chloe storms out of The Gallagher house and Lip runs out after her and calls out "Chlo wait up!" Chloe shouts "Nah forget it Lip! Leave me alone!" and Lip groans as he watches Chloe storm off.
