The day I fell from grace
It was simple. Today was the day I died, there was nothing more to it - the end to the endless days behind bars, for some reason...I felt relief to the point where it could've been mistaken as happiness. As expected, the guards came in with the power dampening headdress which they fought me to put on
It drained me to the point where I could barely stand on my own, the only reason I hadn't collapsed was because they had picked a night where the moon was at its highest radiating power only I could absorb but most of it was blocked due to the silver on the headdress which repelled the moonlight
Uraraka seemed to have kept her word, she was no where to be seen at the mist-hidden cliff. My best guess was that she was sulking out of sight or with the wolf boys doing god knows what, I didn't care as long as she was anywhere but here - she was okay. She wouldn't be affected by my magic bouncing off the silver or any other danger here
"Akina Suzuki, I hereby sentence you to death for harbouring two adult male werewolves within your residence while being fully aware of the law about keep other species in our borders - do you have any last words?" I never was for the 'great last statement to world' and more for the first part of a clue where they end up backtracking the whole investigation because of one small detail - so why not cause mayhem on my way out?
My tongue flickered over my bottom lip preparing to speak "maybe you don't understand as much as you think you do?" The guards stepped back allowing the magical barricade to come between us leaving me with nothing but the cliff edge which was meant to tempt me into jumping but honestly - I just wanted to sit there for awhile and watch the waves roll beneath me...
So that's what I did, meanwhile pissing off everyone who came to see my death - they were impatient and hungry to see the deed done so they would be assure they could 'sleep at night' but I was never any threat to anyone, just a metaphorical one. My eyes fell closed as I embraced the sounds around me, my time was coming - I could feel it!
"Don't jump! Don't do it!" Maybe it wasn't my time that I could feel coming, more Uraraka who wasn't supposed to be here with the other two even if I hadn't heard them just yet. Their scents were heavy with sweat and something else I couldn't quite name.
One guard held the girl back while weapons were pointed at the boys before a coven member slipped through the barricade "Isn't the sea just beautiful tonight? I've never quite seen it like this - so enchanting and gracious...you're a negotiator - I know what you're going to do, talk me into taking 'that final step', no need. I was just admiring the way things are before..."
I let silence fall as my hands pushed myself off the edge. Even as I fell, it felt so peaceful to watch the cliff disappear into the distance smaller and smaller before I hit the water's surface but as I did, Uraraka's face stared down at me in horror as my hands formed gun signs as I 'shot' where I'd descended...
But no death came due to one small detail - the headdress had left me when I jumped allowing a small opportunity for me to absorb as much energy from the moon as I could, it had been just enough moonlight to save my life even if I would still be heavily injured from the fall impact - at least I wouldn't be dead
All I really remember after that was sinking below the cold surface mesmerised by the way the water moved. The moon controlled the waves right? Then I was right where I was meant to be! I was numb and unable to move but something about it just felt right, this was my ending or at least it could've been?
We have a infinite number of endings, so I just picked this one...
