JUST ROOMMATES? [S.M.]

Chapter 11

Lucius POV: 

Jane was brought in the room and doctor was immediately called. It's been an hour now but doctor is still not able to tell us anything. 

Shawn: What happened to her?

Doctor: Well this is serious. Her blood is mixed with poison. As you can see her body has turned complete blue.

Lexi: Poison? Why will she eat poison?

Doctor: This is definitely not a sucidal case. She must have eat something in which poison was mixed.

Me: Maybe cause we had lunch few moments ago.

Lexi: But wait Lucius, Jane didn't eat a single bite of food since morning. Then how can she intake poison?

Me: Oh wait a minute! She tasted Shawn's soup.

Lexi: Oh yes! She tasted your soup cause it gave fowl smell and tasted bitter. That's why she threw it away. 

Shawn: That means my soup was poisonous?

Principal: Yes, and thank god she didn't drink full. After her complain about the taste of soup, he inspected it. He didn't tasted it but the smell made him suspicious. After the test, we found out that it was mixed with poison.

Doctor: Yes Mr. Mendes, today you are all well just because of her. She has saved your life in a way but right now she is not in good condition right now. Due to blood transportation, the poison has been spread in all over her body. I already gave 6 injections.

Lexi: 6 INJECTIONS!!!! Doctor will she be okay?

Doctor: No idea. Just pray for her recovery. Only God and Jane's will can keep her alive. If not, she won't wake...

Shawn: STOP!! What rubbish. Nothing happened to her. She is just sleeping. I know. I will go and wake her up and will ask her to stop her to do all this melodrama.

Shawn went in and Lexi smiled. I was confused about her smile but then I understood the reference.

Lexi: No matter how much he show he hates her but his heart also knows that how much he cares for her.

Principal: That's why I made her his roommate.

Me: What? Really?

Principal: Yes. I knew this would happen. Jane don't know but her parents know much for much before. Her mother and me were classmates and best friends. Her father was also our classmates and they were really close since then. When they told me the nature and character of Jane, I myself asked them to send her here. Because I knew way back that who will be her roommate and why Shawn Mendes only. And I can see the major change in him.  That means I am succeeding in what I thought.

Lexi: Wow mam! Well we should be going to our room. I think leaving them with each other right now is best option.

Principal: Ok students. See you later and yes don't tell anything we talked. I want them to realise themselves.

Me: Sure mam.

Shawn's POV:

I went towards the bed. She was laying silently. Her body in no more same which fell on mine while chasing me. Not the same which jumped in pool to save a girl she didn't even know. Not the same who didn't eat a single bite in process of taking care of me. All she is blue.

Me: Hey Jane. Now listen to me. I know you are acting. But it is to much. I want to annoy you I want to disturb you. I want you to shout at me again. I want you to look whether I am fine or not. I want you to wake up please. Why have you done this? I could have drank that poison before you interrupted. Why you always do something which makes me feel regret for hating you? Why? What is the relation between us? Nothing more than roommates. Then why do you care? I know I am talking insane. But because of you. Please wake up Jane.

I wasn't aware when tears started rolling on my cheeks. I placed my head on her hands when I felt some movements in her body. She was showing her movements. Her body was responding. 

Me: DOCTOR!! DOCTOR!!

As I shouted, doctor, Lexi and Lucius came running in my room.

Me: Doctor, her body was moving.

Doctor: Let me check.

He sat next to Jane and wore stethoscope and started the check up.

Doctor: This is insane. The poisoned blood in her body is being less effective. She gonna wake up soon.

Lexi: That's great 

Doctor: Yes it is but...

Me: But what?

Doctor: Even though she will wake up, she won't be cured fully. She will have stomach pain due to effect of medicines. She may have some mood swings which she may forget when she will be cured properly. 

Lucius: So what do we have to do?

Doctor: Mr. Mendes, you are her roommate. It's your responsibility to take care of her. Make a hot bag and fomentate her by keeping it on her back. Don't let her do anything until she is fine. And don't forget about her medications. She is your responsibility.

Lexi: Yes he will.

Doctor: Good so I am taking leave. Call if in trouble.

Me: Thanks once again.
