TO
the cynics, the broken and the ones who claim to be indifferent to love. May you find your coat, forgive your hearts and let a little bit of faith do its magic.

The Love Boat Diner has been Ophelia ‘Phee’ Mather’s haven for as long as she can remember. Owned by Mickey and Rhonda and directly adjacent to drag club, 'The Crimson Ribbon' - every neon sign, reflective countertop and cherry, red booth tells a story.

Home to the misfits and the misplaced, Phee knows every diner regular like the back of her hand. After chatting with familiar strangers from the likes of Hank the delivery boy, to Marilyn Manroe and Anna-Beth of the roller derby; there's nothing Phee enjoys more than to sit in her booth with a vanilla milkshake and a book, watching the world go by...

Johnny is living a lie. Very aware of how cliché his life has become, his good looks and family name leave every door wide open - except the ones that haven’t already been planned. One thing Johnny could never have foreseen was the cute coat check girl who disappeared into the night with his jacket… and especially not the fact that he would find himself chasing her.

Celeste is a coat check girl. With an alcoholic mother who is rarely conscious and a father who left just days after she was born, Celeste has taken care of herself and her brother Robbie for as long as she can remember. When an ugly blast from the past shows up at her work, there’s nothing to do but run… although not before punching said past in the throat and grabbing a stranger’s coat on the way out.

With a blizzard fast approaching, neither Celeste nor Johnny realises that their night has only just begun. After all, the clock just struck midnight on Valentine’s Day, and they walked into The Love Boat Diner.

[COMING SOON]

*Cover on the side with the story's original title: 'The Coat Check Girl'. I'm still deciding between the two so let me know if you prefer one over the other! :-)
