"In two weeks there will be a foxfire ball to celebrate the start of the year, more information will be given tomorrow Marella Redek and Biana Vacker. Oh and, Keefe Sencen please come to my office before your first class"

"Should I bring the snacks?" I hear a boy shout in the middle of the crowd, I smile knowing my friends voice anywhere.

I push through the crowd, wanting to see my friend after a month. The last time I saw him was when he was saying goodbye at my window and then I left him. Edaline and Grady my adoptive parents drove to the airport and we went on a beach vacation. When they adopted me 10 years ago, when I was 6, my actual parents died in a fire and I was at a party with my sister people found me and put me in foster care. I don't remember them, the only thing I do is that they're last name was Foster. I still go by that name, they are my real family after all, but now Grady and Edaline are my real family.

"FOSTER!" I hear a shout in-front of me someone grabs me by my waist and swings me around. I laugh and when he puts me down and turn around and hug him

"Hey keefe, how was your break?"

"You know just all the father stuff" I kinda feel bad for him. His father has been mad at him and making him feel sad all his life. Saying things like 'your a disgrace' and things like that. His mom ran off and then she started robbing banks and a lot of other things against the law so they put her in jail. She's escaped many times, but she hasn't escaped now for a year. We think they've found a way to keep her in. Keefe and I met a few years ago, when I moved from San Francisco to here, in New York. "Aww foster, you don't need to feel bad for me, you know this is normal, for me anyway." I see a glimpse of the broken sad boy, the one he covers up when the happy, joking boy.

I try to smile, "hey, do you know where Fitz and Biana are, I haven't seen them at all, and they're not responding to my texts or calls?" I'm getting worried, I tried calling Biana everyday, she never responded.

"Yeah, they discovered that Alvar, they're brother, has been robbing banks and stuff with my mom, and someone called 'Fintan' his trial was yesterday and he's sentenced to 2 years in prison and then they're going to figure out from there" I can see a tear ready to fall behind his eyes I put a hand on his shoulder and hug him again "Alvar was my role model," he laughs trying to lighten the mood "what a bad role model he was" he smirks and the bell rings. We rush off to class, and since keefe's one year above me he goes a different way for his first class.

As I turn into the class I bang into someone going out "DEX" I shout and tackle him with a hug. Dex is my cousin, Well not from birth but his mom is Edaline's sister. Dex loves to build gadgets and he's a pro at technology

"Soph, how was the beach" he smiles as he pulls away from the hug.

"It was fun"

"Cool, have you seen the new kid, Amy?, she's supposed to be coming into the class now"

"No, what's her last name again?"

"Uh, it's, Foster" I stumble back and Dex catches me

"I think that might be my sister" I whisper, I don't think he even catches it

"I don't know, it's been a long time, and she was only 4, so she probably won't remember you." He says as he leads me to a chair in the back

"Yeah, probably" he walks back to the door.

School goes by in a blur of Keefe's jokes, questions and books. It doesn't look like the new girl is coming today.

As I walk out to Grady's car I re think what I remember of my sister. She had green eyes and brown wavy hair, and she was always teasing me and pulling my hair even though she was so young. "Something wrong, kiddo" I say as I hop into the car

"Just thinking about Biana and Fitz, there brother Alvar was put in jail the other day"

"That's bad, by the way, we got some new animals in this morning, 2 horses, Silveny and Grayfell. Annnndddd we've got a surprise for you" he smiles like he's got a evil but fun plan

"Good or bad" I say a bit worried, last time he said that, we went for riding lessons and I broke my arm, but I still ride, I'm not that good but it's fun.

"You'll see" he lost his evil grin and is focusing on the road

As soon as I walk through the door something dark gray and fluffy jumps on me and I fall down. It starts attacking my face with a wet tongue. As I stumble back up and see a little puppy with ears to big and a small little red metal color As Edaline walks through the door she smiles, "I see you've met Sandor"

This is kind of what Sandor looks like:

"He's soooo cute! Thank you!!!" I run to hug Edaline. My room will be like a farm now, I've got a gray hamster called Iggy and a cat called Calla. I got Iggy when I moved here and then I got Calla on my last birthday. I did have a cat called Marty but my sister took him, since she got adopted first.
