I awoke from the best sleep I've had in two years. I sat up and stretched before stepping out of bed. I went to the bathroom and did my morning routine, before dressing in ripped up black skinny jeans, and a lose black shirt with half sleeves. After I threw on my boots, I left the guest room and went down the stairs. It was six in the morning, so I knew no one was awake. I walked into the kitchen and started making coffee. While that was brewing, I made two pieces of toast and buttered them. Once the coffee was done, I poured a cup and added a bit of creamer before sitting at the island.
I use to be so use to this, but now it felt so weird being back here. The feeling I got while being here was like...home. It felt like home. I needed to go home, but now that I'm here, I don't know what to do.
Part of me wants to stay here, rekindle the relationships I had, and live a happy life with the people I called my family. On the other hand, I'm still being hunted. I'm not stupid. Just because I haven't been attacked in months, doesn't mean they've stopped trying. I've just gotten off the grid for long enough that they're reevaluating how to find me.
Thank god for witches ability to mask their aura.
I knew in my heart that I couldn't stay here, not for long at least. The longer I stayed in one place, the easier it is to sense my aura. If the demons found out about this pack, and how much I care for them, they would be hunted and obliterated within seconds.
These people, my people, are not worth dying over for me. My life is not as valuable as theirs, and I wouldn't ask them to put their lives in danger just for me. So, it'll just be easier for everyone if I kept my distance, that way it'll hurt less when I inevitably have to leave again.
I sighed at my saddened thought process. I knew what I had to do, but that didn't make it any easier.
Stupid demons.
My train of thought was interrupted by someone clearing their throat. And by the weird tingling I felt on my back, I knew who it was.
"You're up early," I commented.
"Well, being the Alpha means I no longer get the luxery of sleeping in late," he replied, going straight to the coffee pot.
I looked up to see him shirtless, and I instictively cleared my throat to distract myself from his muscular and toned body. I swear, I could feel him smirk as he poured his coffee.
Damn hormones.
"Well, it's good to see that I'm not the only one awake at six thirty in the morning."
He turned at me with a smile, allowing me a full view of his six pack. I practically had to tear my eyes away from him, going pack to my near empty cup.
"I can say the same. I'm the only one up this early. The staff starts at seven, I get up half an hour early to drink my coffee in peace."
I chuckled lightly. "Understandable."
I looked back up in time to see him sitting across from me. He smiled warmly, sitting his cup down.
"I've really missed you, Alex."
I felt my heart skip a beat, but I covered it with a smile. "I missed you, too. All of you. You guys are my family."
"And I'd like to keep it that way."
I raised a brow, as he suddenly placed his hand over mine, feeling the sparks. "Alex, stay with me. You'll be safe here."
I sighed, looking away from him. "Traitor, I can't. You know as well as I do that I'm still being hunted down. I'll put your people in danger if I stay for too long."
"I know but...please stay. At least for a while."
The way he asked, and how his eyes pleaded, made me sigh. "I am staying, for a while. Just...not forever. At least, not now."
I grabbed his other hand with mine, before looking at him in the eyes. "Traitor, my presence here is a danger to you and your people. The longer I stay in one place, the easier it is to find me. Please understand that this is bigger than what you know. Our worlds are very different, and mine just happens to be of the devil. Literally."
He sighed, nodding slightly. "I know that, Alex. And I know that what you're up against is dangerous. But do you really expect me to let you fight this alone?"
"Yes, Traitor! Yes!" I exhaled slowly to keep myself calm before continuing. "You have to understand something, Traitor. This. Is. Not. Your. Fight. You and your pack will die if you help me. I have the bounds of Hell searching for me, and they will not stop until they have my head, and my throne. They are irrational and quick to kill without a thought, and they will do that if you help me."
I saw his jaw clench, probably trying not to snap at me. That was confirmed when he looked up at me, his normally brown eyes turned black.
"Alex," he growled, still trying to contain himself. "What I do with my people is my concern. If I choose to help you, my men will be on our side."
"And that's why I worry. I don't want you or your pack to get hurt, just to protect me. These things, they can't be killed by ripping their heads off, or by injecting them with poison. They are not of this world, and only I can deal with them."
"But you can teach us how to kill them! We can fight by your side, and end this. If only you'd-"
"It's not that simple!"
"Yes it is!" He roared, his alpha tone coming through.
"No, it's not, damn it!" I clenched my fists, trying to control myself before I spoke again in a slightly softer tone. "Traitor, there is only one way to kill a demon, and frankly, your men cannot achieve it."
"And why not?"
"Because..." sigh, "because you'd need weapons."
"We have plenty of-"
"Not man made weapons. We need ones...that are made from the Gods."
He raised a brow, clearly taken aback. "What?"
"Each Olympian God has a purpose, and with that purpose comes a weapon made from the elements they possess. Those are the most purely made weapons, and they can kill anything. Think of them as Imperial Arms; each is unique with it's own capabilities, and each one has different levels of power."
He nodded, listening intently. After a moment, he asked, "How do you know all this?"
I sighed before standing up, placing my cup in the sink. "I'll show you."
He understood, and stood up to follow me. We went up to my room, going to my backpack and opening one of the parts. I pulled out a golden gun, looking similar to a pistol. I then pulled out a sword made of pure iron, with a black base out of it's holster.
"These," I started, holding them up, "are my Imperial Arms. The pistol of war, and the sword of truth. Two of the twelve that exist."
He looked at them with wide eyes. "How did you...?"
"I have my ways. My goal is to obtain all of them. That is one reason why I traveled so often. To collect them, or to at least find where they're hidden. Sadly, most of them are in Europe. There are only two left that are known in the U.S."
"Do you know where they are?"
I nodded. "One is in Texas, and one is in California."
He smirked mischievously. "Wanna go on a road trip?"
