Brittany had stayed up all night planning her date with Santana. She considered going bowling but then realized she wasn't very good at it and didn't want to embarrass herself in front of the Latina. Her second thought was a picnic but remembered that it was fall and it would be too cold to lay outside on the ground. Her last thought was to cancel the date because she was freaking out so much, but Quinn had convinced her not to.
It was now Wednesday morning, and Brittany had finally come up with a plan that she thought would impress Santana but not be too much for a first date. As soon as the blonde had finished breakfast, she texted Santana telling her she would pick her up at noon and make sure she brought a light jacket.
The next challenge she faced was what she was going to wear on the date. Brittany has a lot of clothes, but it seems that she had none when what she wears really matters. Of course, Quinn was no help.
"Brittany, she's going to think you look hot in anything you wear. Just put on some jeans and a t-shirt so we can start on your hair and makeup."
"I swear you are no help sometimes. I really want to look good," Brittany said as she pulled shirt after shit from her drawers.
"What's the big deal? She already agreed to go out with you," Quinn rolled her eyes and starts picking up and folding the shirts her roommate had already decided against.
"The big deal is that she looks like a goddess in anything she wears, and I need to look as good as I know she will or else she won't ever go out with me again, and I will die a lonely cat lady."
"Hold your horses. I get you're nervous or whatever, but let me remind you this a first date. And even if there isn't a second one, you won't end up a lonely cat lady," Quinn said sincerely but then ruined the moment by adding, "Maybe a lonely dog lady." That earned her another pillow to the face.
"Okay, what about this outfit," Brittany says as she held up a long sleeve cream colored turtle neck and a fall skirt that matched the leaves on the trees outside.
"That's perfect. Now go get dressed before I change my mind on doing your make-up and hair," Quinn remarked with a quick tap at Brittany's ass.
By the time Brittany was completely finished, it was 11:15, and she had 45 minutes to pick up Santana. Her nerves had calmed down a little bit because she was pretty confident with her plans for the afternoon. There really was no way to get to where she wanted to go with the subway, so she had to borrow Rachel's car. Brittany is pretty scared to drive her car because since Rachel is a Daddy's girl, she owns an Audi A6, and Brittany does not want to pay for any damage she may cause it. But, it's her only choice, so she is stuck with it.
By 11:20 Brittany is out the door and walking down the block to Rachel's apartment to get the car. Once she has the keys she drives to Santana's. When she is almost at her destination, she sees a flower shop and decides to buy Santana some. Brittany doesn't like roses because they are so cliche. Her favorites are lilies but the ones they have are really beaten up so decides against those too. She finally sees a mini bouquet of fall-themed flowers and goes for those.
At exactly 12:00, Brittany knocks on Santana's door. To her surprise and disappointment, another woman opens the door.
"You must be Brittany. I'm Sugar, Santana's girlfriend," the shorter woman said as she stretches out her hand for Brittany to shake. The blonde's face goes completely blank and all of a sudden she is feeling a little dizzy.
"Oh my god, you should see your face. I was joking. I'm just her roommate."
Brittany, still a little shocked, manages to mumble a few words, "Oh, um, nice to meet you."
