Sunset at the summer lake

A warm breeze flows by

The sun shining so bright

Although night is coming soon

The sky is brighter than at noon

I see the flowers falling

From afar, some people leaving

But I'm away, drifting on the liquid mirror

Far far away, from the city's clamor

Sunset at the summer lake

Trees and water blending into skyline

Silent happiness for me to take

Everything, everything was fine

Sunset at the summer lake

Let my sorrows and pain drift away

Nothing then was at stake

Close my eyes and just take in the day

Empty shore at dusk

Step into the shadow and hush

Ink black water and flaming sky,

Whispering foliage and a sigh

Horizon bursts into fire

As my surroundings turn darker

Night air brushes my hair

And caresses my cheeks with care

Sunset at the summer lake

Faint scent of soon-to-wilt lilac

Ephemeral happiness for me to take

Wondering if I'll ever come back

Sunset at the summer lake

Reaching for the stars, to dreamland I went

Many things then were at stake

But for one night, just one night, forget.
