Do You Mind?! (Bunnie x Coco)

Alright alright. I got excited when I saw fuzzyxworms request this. I'm excited about this one. I know that people are rude to Coco and call her creepy and the recent global events happened so that helped me come up with the idea for this one. I know I say this every time but I really hope you enjoy this one; I'm quite hyped about the idea.

We all bottle up our emotions.. right? I can admit, I do. Things go on behind the scenes that we don't tell anyone? Yep. I'm pretty sure we've all had the odd insult once or twice, but then it's consistent and us semi-introverts take to the internet. Sometimes it can be your appearance. I find pretty much everything wrong with mine, apart from the fact I chose to have short hair, which automatically made me 'gay' at school. What's worse than being made fun of? Being made fun of around like 20 people. Trust me. I know. I'm constantly worried that I sound like an attention seeker. A few more secrets go out and.. that's it. I've threatened before saying things like " I wished I had moved to Spain when I had the chance!" not regretting it. And most of the time, these are "popular" kids grinning down on you.

Bunnie. She's a red rabbit, you know the one. Adored and favoured by pretty much everyone. If you were asked your favourite rabbit, I'm sure you'd say Bunnie, that's what most people I know have said. Personally, I'd say Genji (I think we saw that coming). Most memorable rabbit in Animal Crossing? Most likely Bunnie. I think you get the point. Lesser respected rabbit, Coco. Often seen as creepy or just ugly. Based off gyroids (or haniwa), people seem to think Coco is ugly and reflects the dead, there was a glitch in "Animal Crossing: Population Growing" where you could have eyes like Coco/a gyroid- I think that just supports others opinions on Coco.

It was a normal morning, as any on the island of Symaris. It seems Madeleine had not woken up, just staying inside or trying to persuade for Joey's photo. Bunnie went down to the plaza to check the bulletin board- "Happy Birthday Francine!" (22nd of January). Kicks was there. Bunnie was going to have a look at the bags but she heard shouting from a distance.

Bunnie glanced behind her to see a crowd of people, some laughing, some squealing but they all seemed to be happy and circling around someone. She gets closer to see what was going on. While trying to get close, Bunnie saw Maggie and Admiral- shedecided to go over to them.

Maggie and Admiral are seen as nothing special, not loved or hated. That's not important to the story but its somewhat related.

"Oh, hey Bunnie!" Maggie exclaimed, waving at Bunnie. Admiral realized that the red rabbit was there and turned around so say hi.

"Hi," Bunnie responded. She attempted to gawk into the middle of the circle, "Do you have any idea what's going on?"
"Nope. Just looks like they're making a joke out of someone," Admiral answered.
"It seems too crowded for that though," Bunnie uttered, just as confused as the other two, "I'll try get further in, see you."
"Bye!" Maggie and Admiral cheered in sync, Admiral giving a slight wave.

Bunnie tried to scramble through the crowd and was suddenly bumped by Appollo.

"Hey! Watch where you're going!" he yelled straight down at Bunnie.
"Sorry!" she squeaked. She gulped and looked back up at Apollo.
"Whatever. Damage has been done," he snapped, "I don't blame you anyway, making fun of this clown."
"Pietro?"
"Nah. Coco. Ever seen her? She looks like a circus and a half." The horse next to Apollo turned around. Roscoe.
"A circus? More like a cemetery. She's too creepy for the circus- she'd be laughed at immediately." They both giggled.

As they were having their fun, Bunnie snuck past them only to be halted again, this time by Gigi.

"And what do you think you're doing!?" she yelled.
"And why should you know?!" Bunnie shouted in return.
"I asked first. You're probably helping your crush."
"What?! I don't like her!" Bunnie screamed. Gigi walked out the way.

"You should see the look on your face."

Bunnie took her chance. She ran straight to Coco, her eyes duller than ever.

What had they done to Coco..? Bunnie wanted to cry, right there and then, let it all out. Is this what love felt like?
Surely not. Maybe it was normal, Bunnie hadn't seen anyone be abused like this before.
She stood up proud next to Coco and held her 'hand' out out to help her up. Bunnie then proceeded to say the words, "What... did they do?" while trying not to cry.

Coco glared back down at herself. Her clay-like skin was bruised and bloody and you could even tell the pain, fear, sadness in her deep, void eyes. Clothes particularly in rags, visible sadness and a group of people finding it hilarious.

"I was just walking around, planning to catch some bugs when all of a sudden, I was yanked down to the ground, my net was stolen, not that much of an issue since I could just make or buy a new one, and they started to... beat me up. Rude things were whispered about me in the process, and soon enough, a large crowd of people were surrounding me, harming me both psychically and emotionally. I was kicked, stomped on, punched, hit, a lot and I couldn't get up once."

That was it. Bunnie snapped.

"And this is the world we live in now?! People think it's funny to pull someone down, just trying to enjoy their day and then m-m- mistreat them?!" she screamed, thick tears dropping down her face, like a waterfall. She calmed down a bit, "Don't worry, we'll go report this to Resident Services." Bunnie got Coco back on her feet and helped her out the circle walking towards the Resident Services building. Past Gigi, past Roscoe and Apollo, past Maggie and Admiral, back past Kicks.

"Simp!" someone screamed.

There had to be at least one, its 2021 after all.

HOLY! I'M SO SORRY FOR BEING SO INACTIVE. I have my reasons but they're honestly really stupid, but here: schoolwork. It's a bore and takes so much time, also I've been focused on editing more and launched a YouTube channel- it's called FairyGrace and warning: it contains Gacha because 👏 I'm 👏 untalented 👏
