Y/N POV
It had been a while since we left Bad's house, and we had been walking through the forest long enough that I was already beginning to feel tired.
"Bad, remind me what we're looking for again?" I huffed, stealing a desperate swig of water from my flask in an attempt to satiate my growing thirst.
"A lava pool, remember?" Bad reminded me, holding his backpack straps tightly. "We need to go to the Nether."
I frowned, being someone who had never actually played Minecraft and having no idea what he was talking about. "What's the Nether?"
Bad rummaged around in his smaller pack on his hip, pulling out a piece of cooked mutton wrapped in leaves and tearing a chunk out of it (leaves not included). "Its a red, lava-filled type place. Kinda nightmarish."
I suddenly recalled the fleshy red landscape I had seen in my dream. "Are there weird, hostile creatures there?" I said.
He glanced at me. "Yeah, there are actually-- wait, how did you know?"
I looked at my feet, slowing my pace.
"I kinda had a dream..." I mumbled.
Bad flinched at the word dream, almost as if it meant something to him.
"Wh-what was it about?" Bad said, shaking slightly.
I bit my lip, remembering the strange and slightly terrifying things I had seen in my dreams."W-well..." I hesitated, glancing around at the surrounding landscape in a furious attempt not to make eye contact, feeling awkward about telling him about my dream. What if he thought I was crazy?
Bad seemed to take heed of my discomfort, and I saw his brow furrow a bit as he thought to himself. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to," he uttered softly, keeping his eyes low. "I won't think you're crazy." A half-smirk played upon his lips as his pearl-like eyes blinked at me kindly.
I blinked back at him in surprise before chuckling a bit. "You read my mind," I laughed, nudging him playfully. His face lit up with a relieved expression at seeing my discomfort lessen. He giggled a bit. "Well, you can tell me about your dream later," he chirped, a small bounce returning to his step as we tread purposefully, albeit lightly, on the hyper-green field that sprawled invitingly in front of us. A rather large bee hovered above my head, flitting away after a moment, pulling my gaze towards the sunkissed landscape with its rows and rows of trees lining the sides of the plain, seemingly standing at attention with the noble air of a legion of knights. Multicolored flowers with bubbly blooms bounced and waved in the subtle breeze that carried the soft scent of summer to my nose, providing a pleasant, intoxicating perfume. Despite the apprehension surrounding our journey, this fairytale-land world pulled every ounce of tension straight from my body, relaxing my muscles with the same effectiveness of a deep-tissue massage. Bad appeared to be feeling a similar way, although not quite as entranced as I due to the fact that he lived here. We continued on in comfortable silence, drinking in the picturesque beauty of our surroundings, a sense of determination growing ever stronger within the both of us as we silently contemplated the journey ahead.
